He could be guilty but still not wrong per se. He could be guilty of public-order by hitting someone in self-defence (genuine - not the 'I should be allowed to hit anyone who comes near me or looks at me funny' crap). If those are the charges then he can't say he didn't do it when he did but hopefully mitigating circumstances would make sure that his punishment isn't too severe.

Some of our "fans" just can't wait to have a go at our fans, it's as if they get some kind of joy out of making our fans look bad, it's bizarre.

I hope your mate gets off or some kind of reduced punishment considering the circumstances, i.e. Millwall fans being cnuts.

Got to agree with you for once. I would never plead guilty unless they was stonewall evidence against. And in that top tier I'm sure he would have a good case for self defence.

That is the reason why the rest of the sentence was a question. That's the point of this debate and I know there are legal experts post on here.

If we all took that advice for any particular subject this would be a very quiet forum. I'd never be able to write a word. I'm an expert of **** all.

Difficult one he knows he defended himself (self defence) but argument his he could have walked away . But as I explained at the time his auntie was hurt during the trouble and was defending hEr . Rightly or Wrongly he was advised to plead gilts to avoid been charged with affray

On those facts he was badly advised and should have argued that any violence he used or threatened was in lawful self defence of himself and/or another.

The Crown would have to prove that he was not, a tough burden to discharge if he was one of those being charged by marauding Millwall thugs.

Important factor here, is the absence of any bobbies, as well as adequate segragation and stewarding. They were hardly regular circumstances and such incidents would not have happened if adequate precautions and actions had been taken by the FA, Wembley And the Met. If anything, it should be our supporters up there taking them to court.

Tell your lawyer to throw that ***** back at them.

Surely if any particular millwall fan has been struck, while in the perimeters of the barnsley section, this must be self defence? You cant just wait for someone to actually hit you before lashing out, them being there in the first place is a sign of aggression surely?

Mind, suppose its only the same as hitting someone robbing your house, you'll get done for that too these days.
