I think it'd be an impressive signing.

    Nope

Gary Johnson didn't feel he'd fit into their squad haven't met him.

ie would disturb the harmony etc.

Judging by the 1st half yesterday there isn't much here to disrupt.

wowwwweee you do labour a point luvvy...but again you miss the point.

now please don't get annoyed. but I am not gonna offer you an alternative.that in my mind is just opinion and no more. All I am saying is that the present incumbent is now seemingly the drowning man clutching at straws. W e may well be relegated this term...we might not , I hope not.But I truly think that Simon can do no better than he is doing right now....the alternative is...well I have no idea, but I am sure of one thing. .. WE have to change it around ,and soon... if it means players / manager/ staff or whatever , it matters not ...but something has to change.

It never ceases to amaze me

That as soon as a player is reported to be on the verge of leaving a club, the number of fans who suddenly decide that he wasn't any good after all and won't be missed - even if he'd just been voted player of the year and/or was the top scorer!!

    Evening big fella

It sounds to me like their fans are just like ours, just swap Mifsud for Howard.

I've always been impressed when he's played against us

A real pain in the bum for our defenders.

    The point is

Is he a good player or not?
It's totally irrelevent hat he's not playing regularly for a team of fellow strugglers.... they have Eastwood, Best, McKenzie, Morrison & Kyle - I'm not surprised they want to offload somone.

The only issues of any importance are
Is he any good? (on displays vs Barnsley - yes very good)
Is he coming? We'll know by the end of the week.

As for progress - at this point I'd say it's progress - we need another option up front.

But we won't play him upfront; He will have to play out of position; Davey's way nt

Poor argument.. all players in teams below us are no good? I'd take Rob Hulse from Derby for a start

James O'Connor & Brian Stock from Donny
Lee Williamson & Tommy Smith from Watford
Wes Hoolahan, Ryan Bertrand & Sammy Clingan from Norwich
    Andy Gray from Charlton
Bradley Wright-Phillips, Marek Saganowski, Adam Lallana & Andrew Surman from Southampton
Giles Barnes, Chris Commons, Rob Hulse, Nathan Ellington, Liam Dickinson & Lewin Nyatanga

and to many players to mention from teams just above us in the table.......... e.g. Rob Earnshaw & Joe Garner (Forrest), Gary Taylor-Fletcher (Blackpool), Michael Mifsud & Elliot Ward (Coventry) any of Bristol City's side

    RE: its not my point

    1) We couldn't get anyone in to replace him that we could be SURE would do a better job because all new appointments are gambles.
    2) If we got some one who had some sort of reputation, either as a player, coach or manager, then we may have a chance of signing proven talent. Who the hell knows Davey? People who played with him at Swansea? Carlisle? Preston? not much of a reputation is it. What about people he has coached? Preston Youth Team? not much proven talent there either.
    3) The question we have to ask, is if we replace him what chance is there that who ever it was, would do worse than Davey has and please, please do not mention the F.A. Cup, they were 2 freak results based more on luck than good management.
