Bit more to it than that m8. They did sell Highfields and then moved to Ricoh arena. Where it went wrong for them was they got bought out and the company who bought them separated the club and the ground and eventually kicked them out for non payments. Lots of warnings for us to head in the whole sorry affair.
True, but for me and, more importantly, for the real City fans the club moved away to a new ground where there is little to no parking and poor public transport - this being one of the reasons why the real die-hard fans stopped going. The club were ripped out of the heart of the community and the community never forgave them...
He’s a fkn reptile. Unbelievable to think a couple of weeks ago, people on here were suggesting he would be a good choice to buy us out.
Why is it Mike Ashley's fault? If Coventry City had a licence in place to occupy the stadium on matchdays and not a lease agreement then serious questions need asking of the club and not Mike Ashley.
Prior to acquiring the stadium, Frasers issued a new licence mirroring the terms CCFC had agreed with the previous owners. However, CCFC chose not to sign it at that time." Either Frazers are putting out false statements or Coventry are the ones trying to get a better deal.
A bit like saying do you want hitting round the head with a baseball bat or a brick. Coventry fans do seemed to put through the ringer as to the rights and wrongs of it I'm not sure but it's 100% not the fans fault got to feel for them.
No its not , I would much prefer Ashley & I would welcome him at Oakwell , it might not suit everyone but at least he is a football man ,unlike Conway who in my opinion has not got a clue about football especially the EFL & before everyone jumps on me & starts slagging Ashley I do not particularly like the man thus my opinion is based on football matters only.
Options eh by a football man you mean he owned a football club to me he's a hard nosed businessman who could buy Newcastle stabilise it and sell it a profit which assume he did. I think he would have no interest in small provincial club like us with little prospect of showing a profit on his investment.
He could but he'd have to bankroll us to the Premier League first then hope some rich Sheikh comes in.
I am simply making the comparison between him and Conman , at least Ashley knows football & as you rightly say he stabilised Newcastle which is in complete contrast to Conman who appears to know nothing about football & did a good job of destabilising us, plus for Ashley to make a profit on us then I feel sure he would make sure the product on the pitch would be saleable , we know it is highly unlikable to happen but with all this dislike for Ashley I am making a case that he would be better than we have had since Patrick"s days.
Wonder if the sympathy on here would be the same if we were talking about a certain masseeeeve club down the road
Tbh mate. If they don't get promoted this season I can see him putting em up for sale. Surely they can't sustain the losses. They'll have to release big wage earners and shop in the bargain basement. Be interesting if the early bird is released afore xmas like last year. ?
Just put Ashley in a room for 20 minutes with the Cov boss Mark Robins. That would surely be enough to bore him into quitting and apologizing. Simples!.
