Oh I appreciate the acute levels of skill involved in throwing a high powered vehicle around a circuit and these guys are extremely brave to do what they do. It’s just not compelling watching for me but I’ve never been to an event so it’s probably better if you are there. Like horse racing - not bothered about it on tv but I’ve been thrilled to be up close to these magnificent beasts on a few occasions, right by the rail as they thunder past.
Rugby is the same. Can be dull on tv but a different game altogether when ur there. I used to frequent Kingsholm now and then in my Gloucester days.

I'm laughing at the idea of a fitness regime which is just actively avoiding weight loss.

"****, I walked 4 miles today, I'd better have a couple of pork pies to balance it out"

A pass time, like reading a book, or sunbathing, standing about for two days, then sitting about for two days can’t be described as sport, walking the dog, and waiting for a bus may as well be sports, if cricket is.

Throwing a piece of sharpened metal at a board can hardly be described as a sport, either.

Wheeze your obese body up to the line. Throw your itty-bitty pieces of metal at the circle. Sweat profusely. Repeat. Whilst wearing a primary-coloured marquee and having a nickname like 'Serial Killer.'

Of coarse you need a certain amount of fitness, you try throwing accurately for the amount of time these boys do and see how far you get. Arms , shoulders, back, mental, it’s a professional sport.
