You can't use Vaz Te as a barometer as he was let go far too cheaply, if anything players should go for more in January as managers try to turn their team around. I wouldn't be that disappointed to lose Davies, especially as he now wants to leave, as long as we get someone in to replace him even if it's only on loan. Jay Bothroyd has left Wednesday so maybe he would have more of an impact in our side? Sounds like he just didn't gel with the team there and surely hasn't become a bad striker overnight.
I think we should sell him for £300k. Then put that money towards signing some players who we never play, just like the vaz te money.
Does he want to leave, or not commit himself to the club until the manager situation is settled? - It is possible that he could sign a contract later if we get a manager in that he wants to play for...
He's w@nk, most overrated striker weve had at the well in many a year. Trying to be billy big ******** after 4 goals in one match. He needs to take a long, hard look at himself, especially after the last 2 games where he has been utter garbage!!! Tudgay is twice the striker davies will ever be, shame the lads gotten injured.
Vas Ta didn't use the Club. His goals kept us up last season and he was great value for money. Hill himself said Vas Ta was earning peanuts. Davies however thinks himself a super star when in reality he is a below average striker who has scored in 5 league games.
In October I said if we were offered £1m for him let him go and was crticised somewhat. He's an average striker with a shocking touch. He's not a natural finisher, but one who can score good goals infrequently. The fact that he is our only goal threat speaks volumes about the other players rather than his own ability. The four goals that he's living off came against the worst defensive display I've seen in Professional football and three of those were tap ins. He has ability, but he's not anything special. Unless we get a bid of over 500k I'd keep him, he'll be more useful to us in a relegation dogfight than 200k will be. But once again we're in the same position with players. Only difference is I'm not fussed over Davies, unlike Vaz Te, Butterfield or Hammill. Thing is, whilst players see us a stepping stone, we cant ever win in the transfer market unless we become a lot more savvy.
He's in his 10th season as a football player and already played for 11 clubs. The longest he's been anywhere playing regular football is two years before moving on. We got him for nothing. Nobody should be surprised at his lack of loyalty. It's what he's known for. He clearly craves signing on fees more than he does settling down at one club and trying to become a legend there.
