REDS new boy Dwyane Mattis believes his can make the step up to The Championship.


Speaking to www.barnsleyfc.co.uk, Dwayne said: "To be honest I found the step up to the Championship difficult against Preston North End. I was coming from League Two to play against a team as good as Preston was hard. The pace was quicker, the players were sharper but I believe that I can handle that when I get used to it.


"I am fit but there is a difference between being fit for League Two and fit for the Championship. I will work as hard as I possibly can to catch up and people will see the real me out there.


"I like to get box to box and score some goals. I do like to put my feet in and make the tackles. Hopefully when I get up to speed then the Barnsley supporters will see the real Dwayne Mattis".


Look at Rob Knowles getting a word with Mattis. He probably after reading this board, thought he would get some words about what went wrong on his debut.
