Barnsley owner Patrick Cryne believes his side are &quot;probably another player away from being play-off contenders&quot;.Cryne, speaking as a guest at a Barnsley Supporters' Trust meeting, also predicted a Premier League future for manager Simon Davey. </p>

Cryne said: &quot;Simon is incredibly ambitious. It's going to be difficult to keep him here. If we stay near the top of the league the bigger clubs will come looking. </p>

&quot;It's going to be difficult for (chairman) Gordon (Shepherd) and I to persuade Simon to stay if a Premier League club comes along. He wants bigger and better than Barnsley.&quot; </p>

Cryne added: &quot;If the players believe they can be in the top half they will be. </p>

And I've followed suit.

Cryne never said that survival wasn't enough with AR though.

I seem to remember Cryne also saying when he took over that he wouldn't meddle in football matters asit would be a recipe for disaster.</p>
