Predictably, sadly. They will stroll home from here; the dew when it comes will negate any grip the slower bowlers will get with the older ball. It will just come on nicely. Looked a good pitch in our knock, all the batters got in and few, if any, of them were ‘got out’ with good deliveries, most gave it away off their own back. Always looked 40-50 short and even 320-330 might have been a comfortable chase.
He’s not very good at this review thing Buttler is he? That stank of desperation and didn’t look remotely close to being out live. I’m surprised it was as close to hitting him in line as it was - and it still wasn’t close.
Both him and Conway have been pretty faultless. The bowling has been lacklustre but it’s the batting that cost us today.
As far as I know we need to finish in top 4 of the league which has 10 teams so it’s not all over yet. Still was the worst conceivable start. How many games will we need to win ? 5 out of 9 maybe ?
All teams have completed one game and we are at the bottom of the league. A must win against Bangladesh tomorrow hopefully with a jump up in net run rate
They're all winnable, Helen. But Bangladesh are no mugs, series win against us at beginning of year....
We’ll certainly lose if we repeat our form from the first game. One thing I didn’t know ( or had forgotten ) was that Johnathan Trott is coach for Afghanistan who are now ranked above West Indies and Zimbabwe
