European T10 competition for those interested. England through to finals day Friday. Last group game 10.30 am tomorrow (thursday) v Ireland.
Women's Big Bash started this morning too. Stars are batting against the Sixers. Two strong line ups, especially the Stars top five batters.
Think the umpire will be asked a few questions as to why that penultimate ball wasn't given as a wide....
https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...-stars-women-1st-match-1387172/full-scorecard WBBL started today and match 1 was already closer than anything the men's 50 overs have managed. Stars cruising with Sixers at 71/6 needing 166. Ash Gardner and Maitlan Brown put on 84. Annabel Sutherland gets them both out in the penultimate over. Final over Sixers need a four off the last ball that looked a wide from Alice Capsey, and Stars hold on to win. A great advert for the Sport. Both sides full of internationals.
At least there have been some big upsets. India look odds on favourites. I think on their day most others can beat each other.
True but half of them was at our expense.... If we beat SA on Saturday with 10 overs to spare I won't be moaning as much....
I know it’s not absolutely certain but if we lose we won’t even be qualifying. It’s reported that Stokes will be back for the game so let’s hope for some of his magic
Capsey did well after a poor battling display. Definitely a wide though that last ball.....Surprised the ball wasn't thrown to the non striker end for an easy run out just incase it was given. Oddly it doesn't look on the schedule that Sky are showing every game unless some are just through the red button.
It certainly looked like a wide but the line is for the umpires guidance only so it’s not subject to an appeal
