I still think this forum can be enjoyable and a place for reasonable debate about Barnsley FC. If I only ever came on here to read your posts then it would be worth the time and effort. Not because I agree with everything you say, but because you're intelligent, eloquent, care passionately for the club and are genuinely enjoyable to read. Much more so than any reports I read about Barnsley in the press. And it's not just you, there are a number of people like that. I think the vast majority are decent, reasonable people.

Then there's the excellent fanzine that has recently been launched and is generating thousands of pounds for charity. I very much doubt that would have come in to being if it wasn't for this BBS. Plus the number of appeals for donations or sponsorship over the years which must have raised money into the tens of thousands. If you need to know owt, from where to get a decent holiday deal to how to set-up your new surround sound speaker system, this forum is as good a place as any to get an informed answer.

The place is run by good people who do this for no good reason other than they are good people as far as I can see. It's pretty much a thankless task. Check out Fired's reasoned response to Dustani's post for an example of how they always try to do the right thing.

We all say stuff we shouldn't now and again, but so does everyone throughout the entire internet. I read the thread about Barnsley on the Brighton forum and while there were a good number of decent posts, quite a few were having a go at the bloke who clapped McCourt's spectacular goal. The mind boggles.

We do have some proper eejits who try to spoil it for the rest of us, but they're a tiny minority. The majority want to talk about Barnsley and have a bit of a laugh.

Well said. Can I also add that anyone who comes on here just to "wind people up" deserve to be banned. it's not big, it's not funny and it certainly isn't clever; in fact it's extremely childish. People consistently behaving like that in real life would soon be ostracised, so why shouldn't they be on here? A a ban is a quick, effective way of achieving such banishment. Well done site admin.

 

Banned because admin dont like him!!! You can blame it on his comments all you want but the real truth is the fact u dont like him. Look at whitey with the vay comments. He was constantly digging about been gay ect ect. Av never been a fan of hicksy and thats topped it off..
