I’m lucky enough for this not to be about the money for me. It’s not about relegation or even the rubbish that’s being served up on the pitch. It’s purely and simply about the owners. 4 years of incompetence, deceit and maladministration. if they go, I’ve buy a season ticket, I’ll buy 10 season tickets if it helps my Club, but I won’t put money up front into their pockets. It’s a minor gesture but its one of the few I can take.
Which is fine and I respect your opinion and I'm glad you still want to attend. I have no axe to grind with anyone. The statement "baffling" made it sound like you were critical of anyone staying away because they are unhappy with the off field activities of our owners.
i think they planned all along to wipe out their risk as quickly as possible, get the ground for a decent price, secure loans on it equivalent to the amount of actual capital they’d put in, and now it’s clear they planned to pay the subsequent instalments they owed from the football clubs operating revenue. Leaving their investment company having its cash back and leaving all the debt in the club. Then hoping they can sell the club and still turn a profit on it, but if not they’ve lost nowt. The question now that the plan for the ground seems to be struggling - how are they going to recover their initial investment
No way I'll renew. I love the club, but at the moment I can't see me watching the team at all next season. I've watched them for 47 years. Had 5 years of Iley, so not a lightweight. "This is not my beautiful club". The days are going by. Chien & Conway & a bunch of kids. (That includes the manager & CEO & the entire team. What could go wrong with that)?
I must admit that I'm intrigued by the one vote of a non-season ticket holder who's planning to buy one next season. There has to be some sort of back story to that one.
I'd guess we'll struggle to get much more than 5k down from is it 12k? This won't be a purely football decision for some with the way household bills are rising.
As they don't own Oakwell, so have nothing on which to secure the loan against, would I be right in saying they couldn't do that here?
No. The local authority own OGC Nice stadium. Same situation. It’s why they had an insane APR because of the high risk and lack of assets to borrow against.
Would a financial lender in the UK loan £millions with no security, even at a ridiculous APR? I'm not naive enough to be unaware that there are loan sharks out there and your security is your knee caps, but is the same true for the kind of money required to repay the initial investment here?
Why if they haven't paid in full ,the crynes could pay back what was paid and retake control..I know there would be legality s but it's worth a try .Then find another owner if they desired
Yes. If the owners were content to accept insane levels of interest and quarantees galore, there are plenty of ways to get credit streams in. Many of the PE/VC specialists use their own credit lines in the turnaround process. Ive worked with people like Alix Partners on projects and some of the terms they’ve agreed with the desperate and the greedy are eye watering… and that’s best part of a decade ago.
