    Re: Thanks for the warning

I pay over £600 why? Give me the right to take up both lanes then?

Me neither. To be honest, I rarely see cyclists riding two abreast. Well, I see them further up the road riding two abreast, but as I get closer they usually move in to single file. Sometimes they don't, but that's usually when the road is wide and there is no traffic coming in the opposite direction. My experience of cyclists is that they're interested in self preservation and tend to ride accordingly.

I'm not a cyclist, I like driving my car. I appreciate that cyclists can slow you down, but not for very long, and so what? They're just other road user going about their business. Be courteous and move on, there's nowt to get angry about. I've spent hours in a single traffic jam numerous times. Every day, wherever I drive, my journey time is increased by minutes by the sheer volume of cars and lorries on the road. That can be frustrating, particularly when you're late or in a rush. The most I've ever been delayed by a cyclist is a few seconds and that doesn't bother me at all.

At 7am yesterday I rode past the Birdwell Wheelers (I think that's what they're called) on Pontefract Road & they were riding 4 abreast. Didn't bother me as the road was quiet & I could get round easy enough

Slow down, wait for an opportunity to pass, then overtake. Adds about 2 seconds to your journey. I've never felt the need to honk the horn at a cyclists nor have I ever come close to hitting one. Patience gets you through most situations on the road

    I know I'm soft.

Sealed roads are the result of bicycles, not cars.
