    Unbelievable

And this is why everyone is getting SO feckED OFF with this country. It makes my blood boil.... :((

Like EastStander said, anyone else it would have been a manslaughter charge.

Deepest sympathy to the family of the girl.

No, but again, I don't see what that has to do with not having a clue what you wrote, unless it's all text speak and had I got kids I'd understand it!

    To be fair

There's too sides to this story. Okay what he did was regrettable but manslaughter? You're having a laugh. Hitting someone with a car and hitting them with a bike are too totally different things. You don't expect to kill someone with a bicycle collision do you. I mean really? And we don't know from that article whether the girls were on the road or what. I know from personal experience that cyclists are invisible to some idiots and I can to be honest fully understand the frame of mind he might have been in when he shouted that. And if he did shout, why didn't they get out of the way? Remember also that riding a bike pumps up the adrenaline to levels not seen when driving a car. I've never succumbed to road rage behind the wheel but on the saddle, a completely different story. So I can understand some of this. Not necessarily excusing what he did and definitely not saying it isn't a sad story but just trying to explain why manslaughter would be bonkers.

    RE: To be fair

According to the reports I heard, he was riding on the pavement and sped up into her

Too many cyclists seem to think the highway code doesn't apply to them, I saw one this morning, on the road, approaching a red light, goes onto pavement, across the pedestrian crossing (which wasn't even on green!) and back on the road at the other side.

Warram trying to say is imagine ya mother or father loosing you to a dick like this, they would justify 2 and a half grand as decent and just move on.

Where did I say the fine was appropriate? I think you'll find I said he should have faced a manslaughter charge.

My mum and dad are dead actually.

But either way, I'm not an advocate of taking the law into your own hands, what good does that do if you are locked up for murder and you have other kids that are left without their dad.

    I'd kill the Barsteward.....

:(( He even tried to make out the accident was initially on the road until an eye witness gave evidence. Very sad for the girl's parents, they ust be devastated.

    "Move cos I'm not stopping"

is what he shouted apparently. Which is why, where possible, I run cyclists over.

Totally agree, in a situation like this you pay a couple of smack heads to do the deed for you, he gets dead the smack rats get caught and its all happy ever after....Only dissatisfaction in all that though is you don't get to see the fecker in question suffer....

RE: "Move cos I'm not stopping"

If he was holding a bat and said "Im going to hit you with this" he would now be start a life sentence for Murder!!! Just because his chosen weapon was a bike he's get off with a poxy fecking fine...
    British legal system... DISGRACE!!!!!!
