    Interesting. We've been to Paphos this time and was looking at Protaras next - there's a couple of really good hotels there that are on my shortlist. What is it that makes you prefer Paphos if you don't mind my asking? Should I chalk them off? We're just doing the research now for next year.

    I prefer Protaras more beach and a strip and a nice walk to Pernira. Paphos as got plenty of history and you can go to the Tomb of Kings,The Castle and a dig near the Harbour.

    I just thought there was more to do in Paphos and more laid back, I'm not a beach person so that doesn't come into the equation. I actually stayed in Pernera which was really quiet but did alternate nights in Proteras which is a bit more lively if you liked an Elvis impersonator in every pub, had one night in Ayia Napa which was bedlam.
