Anyone would think the Met is full of racist, knuckle dragging, brainless ***** who shouldn't be running a lemonade stall, let alone given the job of "upholding the law".

Personally I thought they acted very reasonably. After all, they chose to overlooked the blatant offence of "walking on the cracks in the pavement".

Met and West Midlands forces were the worst two in my opinion.
Mind you, i can remember an inspector jumping on the bus just outside Newcastle, and threatening anyone that sings will be arrested.

Perhaps not a daft reason, but the most obscure I ever heard of was impersonating a member of the clergy in holy vestments to conduct a purported wedding ceremony.
I also recall a fraud case case where the offender systematically filed spurious complaints for goods supplied to obtain refunds and "goodwill" gestures. In court the specimen deception charge was read out as obtaining a refund and a free food hamper by falsely claiming a Sainsbury's rich fruit cake had given him and his dinner party guests excessive flatulence.

Just in case it’s not known by everyone, the bloke who inspired this thread was arrested again this week, and again released without charge.

At some point Priti Patel will make it illegal to walk down the street whilst black and the cops will finally be able to charge this ‘gangster’.

    Yeah I saw that

It's almost like there's some deep rooted problem in The Met as well.

'Nay lad... School??? That will be for the Toffs only... You'll be back darn't pit working 12 hour shifts, in the pitch black as a 'Trapper' - don't forget to get thi Mam to get yer snap tin ready each morning. Oh! I forgot she'll be 'in service' cleaning out the grates, setting the fires preparting the breakfast up at the 'Big House' for his Lordship.

Seriously it is strange to think my wife's mother who was born in 1916 was 'In Service' before WW2 broke but just before and during it worked at CEAG even at weekends making bulbs for the war effort. Apparently only 5 minute breaks were allowed and a woman used to stand outside the toilet and time how long was spent in there (an inspirational model for Amazon Warehouse managers possibly !!)

Give it a few more weeks and we will all be in the fields sowing british oats and british potatoes (ahem) and eating our ploughMAN's lunch before we go to doff our caps to the Lord of the Manor
