I loved Daggers just for his sheer work rate up top. Last season under Flicker he was the hardest working player I think I've ever seen in a BFC shirt. He was also the unluckiest. The number of times he hit the woodwork or the opposing keeper pulled off a top save was just incredible.
I would definitely have kept him as a squad player and he would have been very useful to have next season in League 1.
Good luck to the lad, I'm pleased for him. Orient look a very decent side too.

I liked Dagnall a lot & wish him all the best but he's not a championship quality striker.

Ironically I'd love him back here next season as he's more than capable in league one.

Two of my favourite moments in recent seasons came through Dagnall, when he rounded the keeper & celebrated in front of me at MK Dons & his double against Leeds.

He's one of them players who you badly want to be a success

Who said he would have scored the goals to keep us up? I've read through the thread and can't see anyone suggesting that. I think some have said they'd have preferred it if he'd stayed. I certainly did. I think he'd have offered more over the season in terms of goals, assists, workrate and value for money than Pedersen.

    Dagnall - 40 starts, 11 goals.

    Pedersen - 13 starts, 2 goals.

I was very impressed with Pedersen early doors, but he was then unfit for most of the season. When fit/sharp, he and O'Grady looked a real handful as a partnership up top. But I also thought O'Grady with Dagnall was a decent partnership. I think the latter was very unlucky to fall out of favour under Flitcroft, and I believe Danny releasing him and replacing him with Proschwitz was a mistake.
I'm not a big fan of Proschwitz, but I don't think he was as bad as others claim either. The problem for me was the type of forward he was. I'd seen him for Hull a few weeks before we signed him. I said on here at the time that he was a workshy, weaker version of O'Grady. That he came alive in the box, but wasn't the target man striker his big frame suggested of him. And so I never saw him and O'Grady working as a duo. It turned out to be the case. And so I would have preferred it had we retained Dagnall. Because he worked well with COG.

Would I want Dagnall back next season? No. I'm a firm believer in Danny Rose. I think he'll come very good for us. But then, he too was farmed out by Danny.

"With hindsight we were worse without him, could have stayed up with him playing and maybe getting the odd goal in those last few home games."

Fair play. I need to stop putting off my need for specs.

Do you think I'd suit a pair of specs?

In terms of Dagnall being a sub at Orient, on that same note, so I believe is Wiseman at PNE recently. May have been injured though. Or, maybe it's taken Grayson just 5 months to work out he's baba.
