He did not come back constantly.

He instead largely threatened their defence, which is more than anyone else did on anywhere near the same scale.

He wsn't amazing, though his close control was unparallelled on the pitch.

I felt like throwing a tantrum when he was taken off, so I don't blame him for wanting to stay on and win us that match.

    He's a kid ffs.

What was the reason? Haven't listened to his interview yet.

He's got the ability, undoubtedly. Cracking talent. Needs to learn when to release the ball, his decision making is average at best, and it's what's stopping him from being an absolute colossus. If he had this, he'd be playing regular in the championship at least already.

This loan spell should sort him out, we have a cracking player on our hands.

    Ran our midfield today.

I worry about if he gets injured and when he returns to Arsenal

He can't defend? Yeah he probably can't but he's so much more advanced with the ball than all of our players put together. He more than makes up for his lack of defending when he has the ball. People saying his decision making isn't very good aren't seeing the bigger picture. The next time you watch him on the ball, just have a look at the amount of people actually trying to make a run in behind, I bet there's one at most. We have next to no penetrating runs being made and that's what Crowley feeds off. I know it's a different kettle of fish but when he plays for the Arsenal U21 team his decision making is one of his strongest assets because he has the likes of Iwobi, Akpom (before he was loaned to Hull) Maitland-Niles (before he was loaned to Ipswich) etc. etc. All those players recognise that he wants to hurt the opposition and make the appropriate run. Our players are so far behind him he has to keep the ball for at least another 4-5 seconds by which time people are getting on his back.

Also what pisses me off is why everyone is so fixated on slating player's when they can't defend, why aren't we slating players when they can't attack? It's another one of this countries flaws domestically and internationally. We are so scared of conceding goals that we never actually try to score them.

My last gripe is the fact that we didn't sign Devante Cole. Aside from the fact that he isn't the most clinical yet his movement and pace would of suited the likes of Crowley, Williams (as we saw last season) and Rothwell down to the ground. From his training at Man City he knows 'where' to run and 'when' to make said run. Maybe we did go in for him but if we can pip championship teams to Mawson, we can pip teams at our level to him, especially as we can count out that his move was geographically orientated.

Completely agree about Cole. He'd have been ideal.

As for Crowley I disagree, my view is that people only watch the ball & not the game because there's plenty of occasions where players around him were making forward runs but he opted to beat the man he'd just beaten. Mainly Winnall & Watkins but Scowen & Hourihane on occasion too.

There's no doubt he's talented but yesterday he got Campbell - Ryce syndrome & tried to do much & burnt himself out.

No shame in that, just a lesson to be learned from it. Didn't like his reaction at been subbed & snubbing Scowen on the way off. Again, hopefully he learns from it.

I don't have a gripe with him defensively when he's in the 10 role but when he drops deep & takes either Scowen or Pearson's space & then loses the ball he needs to take over their defensive duties for that period of play.

It might sound like I'm slating him but I'm not, he was for me our second best player yesterday behind Hourihane & I rate the kid, he just needs plenty of coaching which is why he's here

I like Crowley and in years to come think he will be a fantastic player at the minute he is developing learning and making mistakes it's why we have him.

We desperately needed to sign someone with pace to make runs for him. Cole would have been ideal and no idea why we didn't go for him. Maybe Ryan Williams when fit can fulfil this role. It's wasting his abilities otherwise.

I couldn't give a toss if he never defends myself.

Our managers come out and given an excuse why he's taken off our playmaker and said its to do with his defensive side of play?! Against Shrewsbury you shouldn't be worrying about it, and besides Lee, your formation of 6/7/8 midfielders should cover the defensive side.

Bassett would have won that game 11-2.

It's embarrassing that at home against a side who were yet to win a single game we were worried that our players were too attacking so went for a more defensive change. ******* embarrassing

I'm yet to see anything positive from Lee Johnson to suggest he is a very good manager. Hopefully he will prove he is but he's keeping it hidden well so far

It's funny how you just make things up and miss out large part of his game to try and prove your own point. Which is a rediculous point.

What about that he was by far our most dangerous attacking threat? We looked far worst when he went off. In fact we look terrible.

Why are you lying? In numerous posts I've pointed out he did a lot well & said in my opinion he was our 2nd best player yesterday but he burnt himself out & shouldn't complain at been substituted.

Our main attacking threat is Hourihane. He went off at the same time.

The same lad that hit the woodwork, came close a couple other times & put in numerous good deliveries that we should've done better with.

Neither should have been subsituted. The below par scowen would have been the right man to take off. As would Watkins who was having a shocker 2nd half.
