Nothing this season has got close to the first hour at QPR. We again tired though, which once more points to not conditioning the players in pre season given the losses we incurred back room. As for El Ahmads comments... he's not really in a position to comment about dreadful appointments.
You could argue the 1st half v boro was very good under poya untill we started to defend the lead and defend deeper and deeper and..... Yes the 1st 45 was good under schopp untill warburton changed things up that's about the only decent football we saw under schopp. I mentioned about how well val organised a team but i have never seen a barnsley side so unorganised under schopp.
We didn't start off disorganised though, for whatever reason, the players just stopped playing and didn't put in the effort. Some of the token jogs from Helik and Brittain in particular showed a very different side to their characters, not in a good way. But we are where we are, and next season we'll be where we'll be.
We will have to agree to disagree its okay blaming players but we were set up so disjointed under schopp too much space behind the wing backs one ball exposed us little attacking threat mind numbing football. I remeber watching the bolton away 2nd game in and thinking **** me were in trouble bolton are a bang average league one side and we were lucky to get to pens. Cole took the blame but if we had gone through it would have been papering over the cracks. As for next season i fear the worst especially with these clowns in charge.
QPR. Cardiff wasn't too bad either. Stoke away was ok in parts and absolutely crazypants at others. That might be an exhaustive list.
I'm not sure the organisation was ever there, just some luck. Coventry got in behind in the flanks repeatedly, they just missed their chances. We benefitted from missed chances of the same nature in other games, Stoke away and Birmingham at home spring to mind. Brad Collins was the only player to gain any credit under Schopp because we concede so many chances. And, as you alluded to about Poya on another thread, the more time Schopp spent with them, the worse things got. 6 points from 5 games leading into the first international break. Then the next block of games saw 2 points from 5 games, including the start of a 7 game losing run. He was a car crash of an appointment. I'd rate Poya as marginally better, but that isn't saying a great deal. They both contributed to our relegation. Sitting back against Reading at home, and not being able to defend out wide at their ground means that they got 4 points against us. If we'd got 4 points from those 2 games, things would look a lot healthier now. Warnock would've wanted more money, but I think he would've been the more financially viable option to replace Schopp, given the dealings I would've expected from him in January. On Stendel, no I wouldn't want us to appoint him, for reasons spelled out by @Archey
Blew me away, that opening game against Oxford. Loved going to Oakwell feeling sure we'd win, or at least have a good go at it.
To go all season unbeaten at oakwell was some achievement not sure we will see that again. Season ticket was value for money that season.
