Fine, it may be relatively fierce, but it's a derby that's only existed since about 2014. It's hardly comparing like with like compared with our rivalry with Wednesday, which is itself quite a tame rivalry compared with some in the world (Old Firm, Belgrade, El Clásico etc.) Shaw Lane are benefitting Athersley with this ground share, and if Athersley hated them so much, why didn't they say no?
They could still have said no, but rightly saw it as an opportunity to benefit themselves with a better ground and more money, so in this way Shaw Lane are benefitting them
