Er he's had six clubs - hardly a million in the current football managers market. Certainly, if we're not including people that have had six clubs we'll narrow down the field a bit. I mean Davey hadn't had any and he was toss.

    Wednesday was a poison chalice.
He had Bristol into a play off final and they finished third twice under him.
MK Dons were a very tidy football side under him but lost partience.
Don't know what happened at a Hartlepool, but they love him at Swindon because he is doing what he has done everywhere he has been - he is playing good simple pass and move football that entertains the fans.

We'd be a safe midtable side with him - no sentimentality about that.

    Ooooooooooooooooh YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS

    lol :)

He hasn't got track record of disasters on his list has he? So he hasn't taken anyone else to the Premier League - that's not exactly what we're asking him to do. He'd do a great job!

    I hope he doesn't

And it isn't because of the whole Wednesday issue. IMO he wouldn't be the right man for the job. It's all very well playing good football, but its hardly got him anywhere has it?

I reckon it could happen though.

Indeed they do - some live in 1998 and some live in 1968

Never thought i would agree with S.M

But i do , Wilson is a backwards step where there would be Enormous pressure on him from day 1

"Clarke was a disaster second time around"

Can't agree with that. In 88/89 we were within a whisker of the final play-off slot, and played some awesome football. I remember David Currie singlehandedly tearing Bournemouth and Man City apart that season, plus a great cup run and probably many other highlights which I now can't remember due to only being ten at the time.

its 2009, not 1999. Any comparison between what we did then and now is laughable, but seemingly common in many Barnsley fans. Stuck in the past.

    fair enough...

... but the appointment of DW would not automatically be a bad thing. His record in the lower leagues is not exactly shabby and he is a reasonable candidate who should be considered for his own merits, not for what he did for us but for what he could do.

Bassett...more points ,more goals...45 minutes away from Prem. And you can't dismiss the way Wilson left and where he went.

RE: Danny Wilson wont happen anyway....

I agree. PC has cot compo to pay to our outgoing manager so he won't want any to pay for the incoming fella. On top of getting rid of the backroom staff when the new man wants his own people. Costly as it is without another 150k to pay up a contract.

Yes I can and I have done. As for Bassett - well he never delivered the type of football that Danny Wilson had us playing and I know who I'd prefer in charge.

The football under Bassett was crap, as for the play-offs Hignett got us there, not Bassett.
