I'd go with Farnham red in that clarkie was equally as good,if not better than danny Wilson, getting promoted from that fourth division was like winning the cup for a lot of us,i also think the football he brought to us was as good if not better than anything I've seen at oakwell.
making out like Wilson is the messiah will only cut it if he makes a go of things this time round and as for loyalty,he didn't think twice when he pissed off to Hillsborough after standing in the middle of the pitch and pledging his future to us.Folk are entitled to their opinions, even more so when they turn up,week in week out.
For the record,i hope danny becomes, without question, our greatest ever manager, but he needs to change some tactics if he is to;)

I'd say we've beaten all our relegation rivals but not improved enough to take us beyond that. If we had beaten the other poor teams at home under Flicker/Mellon we would be ok. The team Danny inherited is on a par with the poorest I've ever seen us put out at Championship level and he had to do loads of recruitment in January which unfortunately didn't come off. Sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't. It's the constant negativity without anything positive to say that's wearying.

Jimmy Cricket.....culture is driven from the top. The likes of Mansford and Wilson need to be driving a winning culture that is aligned to what Barnsley is all about ie. fight, passion, energy, determination.

I see very little, if any evidence of this......and that is the reason why i am negative with the current regime and situation? I just cant see any thing to hang any hope on?

Again I don't disagree. Hill seems to have infected the club with a negativity that lingers to this day and changing it round seems a big job. I fall into the relegation might be the jolt we need school of thought myself.

Arthur Fairclough is Barnsley's greatest ever manager, won the FA Cup in 1912 and reached the final in 1910.

relagation without doubt will be the jolt we need, only trouble is we cant compete financially now and only break even by selling players, that loss of revenue that comes with relegation will hit us hard.
its also extremely wrong that they get parachute payments when getting relegated from the premiership but not from the championship, dont championship teams need to retain their players?,fcukin one rule for the elite and ****** to the rest....another reason why many fans are getting to the end of their tether.

If I'm being honest I think what Clarkey did for us dragging us out of the mire was a greater achievement I'm just sick of all this constant carping and negativity.
Talking about sacking managers every 5 minutes it's just daft isn't it,

I can see exactly where you are coming from jimmy c, after reading many of your posts I reckon you are an upbeat type of bloke, but you've got to remember not everyone is like that.Chill art a bit mate, some are having a right whinge, but many of them will be there again next season.
I'm not particularly over the moon with danny Wilson at the minute but do I want him sacked,no,most definitely not,we are going down imo and we need stability, unless we look like being relegated by next xmas then danny needs to be left alone to try and sort this mess out.
Don't take everything to heart mate,99.9% on here mean well, and for me that includes Hemsworth tyke, its just opinions when all said and done.

No you're right there mate and I'm going to have a bit of a break from here after tonight. I just wonder why some folks bother if all they see are the negatives. I'm actually a real miserable fcuker most of the time.

They do. But seeing as they can be over ruled at any point...

The losing mentality has not been broken except by Robins and he was sacked for it.

Think I'm right in saying that Danny will be only the second manager in our history to be relegated twice.

Too numb to get into the "should he stay or go" debate at the moment and there are some good points on either side in this thread.

All I know is that I don't want to see the same playing personnel next season nor the tactics from the first (pass it about between the back four until one of 'em fecks up and gives it away) or second (passionless hoofball to a lone isolated striker) halves of this season.

Think whatever league we are in next season. , it will be Danny's team , and hopefully then he will have us playing better and more positively

I thought he tried playing attacking football with 442 with many on here (rightly imo) saying we should pack midfield and play one upfront as we were losing due to goals conceded? Now because we've stopped doing that we should go back to it?

His tactics are right, we try to give ourselves the best chance of scoring first which is not to give silly goals away. He's playing percentage football. It might not be pretty but when you've not won a single game all season if you give the first goal away it's the right option imo.
