i don't do blame. it's not in my vocabulary. it gets us nowhere. and i'm all for getting behind danny next season. but this view that he isn't in any way responsible for our relegation - i just don't get. i have to agree with whitey on his point. only my opinion obviously, but i genuinely believe if it were any, and i mean any, other manager, this board would be awash with 'failure, hasn't worked, no better off, bring someone else in and start again'

Wilson had enough time and scope to turn it round but didn't.

You can call that fault or blame

What you cannot do easily is turn it into full blown optimism for next season

And when he compounds it by talking a load of cliche ridden vague tripe whenever he's asked owt, and when you see in print nothing that gives you the slightest encouragement that he possesses any significant insight, you become even more worried.

    But time will tell.

I think too much is made of his signings in January.

History shows it's tough to get decent players in January.

You tend to get players who've not played in months & got the munk on (Shea & Frimpong), players who are young & untried which could go one way or the other (McLaughlin) or players coming back from long term injury (Hunt).

We've seen in the prem that teams who make big changes in Jan mostly balls it up like Fulham & Cardiff have.

It's easier in the summer when there's thousands of free agents available who you can take on trial & get to know their character. If we'd have had Frimpong & Shea on trial for a fortnight I doubt they'd have been signed.

Let's see what he does in the summer in terms of recruitment. If by November his signings look ***** then fair enough he wants criticising.
