That probably sums up what I was trying to say in a much more compact way!

Do you personally feel suspicious as a result of those statements though?

When Mansford first took over I was impressed with some of the things he implemented, but the end of last season's debacle has left me feeling let down, so by human nature I'm personally a bit more sceptical as to the content of his statements.

    Fair enough.

Maybe i'm just a blind optimist, but there's not many owners/directors in the football league I would swap our current crop for. They will make mistakes and have done already, but I think they are all pulling together in the right direction and we will get there eventually.

What "weekly" spin from Mansford are you referring to? Also, what right do you have to demand anything from other fans who simply have a different view of the situation?

I don't hear anyone suggesting that things are currently going well on the pitch. The "wilson-tinted" fans as you put it, simply see a long term strategy which they are prepared to buy in to. Yes, it's dog turd at the moment, but the belief set amongst many fans is that this just a rocky stretch of the road which we'll eventually pass.

    Lets hope so.
It's what we all are after ultimately.

    Weird innit?

Because we are showing patience, supporting our club, manager and (in the main) younger players we're somehow 'Wilson-tinted'. As I've said for years on here, it's time we stuck it out with a manager implementing a long term strategy. The club bottled that under Keith, and I can't blame them really as the negativity from supporters was matched also with negative football and Keith's utterly negative attitude.
Flicker performed a miracle. The club then proclaimed him THE MAN, their man, and backed him financially. Took them 18 games to change their mind. And so here we are with Danny. Clearly implementing an agreed strategy.

We don't lose every week, not all of our performances have been *****, we've the youngest squad in my lifetime and we've suffered injuries to key players at key stages of the first half of the season. The players that most of us deemed poor signings have been swiftly moved on.

Conversely, quite a few of our performances have been *****. And others have been borderline. We're still heavily reliant on loanees, and I'm no closer to understanding or knowing what formation/system Danny wants us to play or who his preferred XI would be if all available.

We have to improve. I think we will do. But it won't happen overnight and I'm quite comfortable with the inevitability that is a second year down here. But I'd like to see some upward momentum in the next few months, some more pleasing performances and a regular XI featuring as many of our permanent players as possible. If we continue as we have done so far, in terms of results and displays then I too might start to doubt the club, players and manager in terms of making this strategy play out successfully.

In response to the OP, I don't expect us to go and beat MK Dons tomorrow. I'd like us to be solid. I'd love us to nick three points. We've beaten two other high flying sides away from home doing just that. Three would be nice.

I'm sure those buying into the long term strategy will ultimately be proved right. Eventually, as these things tend to go in cycles, Barnsley will have a successful season. Some time in the next 10-15 years it's got to happen...
