Isnt that the nature of supporting a club , fans can criticise and take the piss out of themselves and the club but others can’t , particularly not the manager . You might have thought it alright for Hill constantly saying we were above our station in the Championship , I didn’t , we were in the Championship . It’s getting more difficult to compete in the Championship because of Premiership parachute money but it’s only a few seasons ago we were in the playoffs
So he didn’t say anything about the club at all then. Just ruffled the feathers of some fans that thought we had a divine right to be doing well in the championship? You’ve just agreed with him btw, by accepting that parachute payments have been a major problem for those of us that don’t throw money about. It’s been the case ever since they were introduced, including during his tenure.
You didn’t read my post , we were in the playoffs a few seasons ago , it’s difficult to compete but not impossible where did I say we have a divine right to be in the Championship, you sound like Keith Hill
Show me where I said you thought we had a divine right to be in the championship? Where did I mention you in person? I said, and I quote : “So he didn’t say anything about the club at all then. Just ruffled the feathers of some fans that thought we had a divine right to be doing well in the championship? “ As for the championship playoff season, it was in empty stadiums sandwiched between the great escape where we stayed up on the last day and a season where we went down like a lead balloon, it was hardly our norm. Many of our previous championship seasons have seen us stay up on the last day. It’s a struggle, only a fool would think it’s where we should be. Apart from visiting the smaller grounds, I’m not happy about being in league one, but I accept that it’s a stretch to stay up there, and so did Keith Hill. if you’re not one that thinks we should be doing well in the championship, then you’re the same as me. He wasn’t talking about either of us, so why let it bother you?
For me Keith Hill came across as a bit of a tit. Always wanting to big himself up while at the same time Downplaying the club which is fair enough when things are going well, but when things weren't going well his attitude ensured he has little in the bank from the fans.
Football fans don’t need ‘a little in the bank’ for any manager. Once they’ve made their minds up they’re waiting for a few bad results, to pounce. Some already want rid of our current manager and will look for the smallest crack to make a hole. Something he said or didn’t say, his team selection, his subs, or even his demeanour in the dugout. Anything will do. It’s always been the same, but far worse now we’ve got the internet.
