I didn’t know you’re Dad scouted for Boro! All that effort I put in playing footy in the school playground to impress him and the best I could have hoped for was Ayresome Park!!!

We got David Geddis for around £50,000 - a steal at that price and he graced our team as one of the three G Men - Geddis, Stuart Gray and Ronnie Glavin. I remember being at Ninian Park watching those three destroy Cardiff. 3-0 win but could have been more.

A travesty that we then let Birmingham have him for £80,000. Terrible bit of business!!

He was mainly huddersfield (after barnsley) dave but he went to Boro after his mate John Pickering (remember him?) went to Boro.
In our day though he was Huddersfield...so you could have ended up there...Ian Measham (mushy) did...and he scouted him after I marked him against St Helens!

I have Derrick Parker categorised in a second type of forward along with Andy Liddell, Andy Payton, John Hendrie and Sam Winnall (and maybe Woodrow and Dyer). I've maybe missed some out. Hendrie was the best, followed by Parker. If Winnall hadn't been injured so badly, I think he could have gone on to be the best. I don't go in for all the hate directed at him, he was sensational for us.

Agreed, we can't hate every player that leaves us for the Massives, there've been too many.

David Currie was a great player in his first stint, unbelievable ability to twist and turn in tight situations.

Currie was my first Oakwell hero.

kieffer moore is up there in terms of quality centre forwards for me, along with Ashley ‘Lord’ Ward and Super John. Notable mention for Jan Aage too, oh and Bruce, if only he could have stayed onside a bit more

One of mine too, and going along with the gutted theme, I was so peed of that Notts Forest got him for just 750k in 1989.
And Cloughie just treat him like garbage there, based on what Mark Crossley keeps gobbing off about.
