I disagree. I think there are two or three 1st years who have a chance. They are no "Charlie Wizards" just solid footballers who have improved substantially during the season. But don't take my word for it, get down to Oakwell on 2nd May to watch the game against Liverpool and make your own mind up!
No problem Wigan, i was shocked at the statistic, i honestly thought it would have been a lot higher than it is, he said that you can only work with what you have got and the real gems from south yorkshire have been snapped up by bigger clubs. I saw Nathan Jarman play at 15 and would have bet a fortune that he would be a first team regular at Oakwell, dont know what went wrong there.
I will do, i watch the reserves on my day off on wednesdays and i will miss that next year, i have no idea of the thinking behind that decision either.
if potter butterfield and heslop arnt showing for the first team when we have a reserve squad what are the chances for kids with no reserves according to red rain there is no special talent coming through except RNL according to you we are releasing kids because we have no reserve team next year [so you overheard] for them to progress we may as well let all the 1st year kids know what their future is because it dosn't sound like it is at Barnsley
Nice name by the way, i didnt over hear anything, i was told in person. The reserve story is on the official website, honetly it doesnt look all that good does it.
Is charlie the third of Daves kids to be given a chance at the academy? Ant, Simon and Charlie isn't it now?
Very few people know that David Handcocker is the stepfather of Michael Mifsud. That's why he signed for us. Glad to be of assistance.
This average of 2% is probably taken from all of the Academy age groups, what is the average of pro contracts given to players from the U18s age group only?
