RE: Was that two years ago when we were fourth after nine games ? nt

yes thats right and it lasted a long time didnt it. three relegation battles, crap player after crap player, useless tactics, same old **** every single press confernce, players out of position, inability to see the weaknesses in the side. OK we've had three or four outstanding results but we have countless dire and unacceptable performances from him. Good riddance to him.

    We will never know now...

and what the first games of the season proved was that for some reason, the bunch of players SD had got together were no longer doing the business and I believe that Robins, given similar amounts of backing to SD, will achieve.

I think we will avoid relegation , but it will be a long hard slog. I think we probably would have done so under SD, but he had seemingly run out of ideas.

    The facts and history suggest...

I think you hope that we do go down

As much as I wanted Davey to get the boot I would have been happier to see him improve - it was never going to happen though

    What "Damage" has he done?

You stated (in your opinion) that we haven't made any progress. That's hardly a Capitol Crime.

So because we did it last year we will do it this year??

It all comes down to the level of ambition you have for the club and if you're happy to see us finish 20th or 21st every year that's up to you but who are the three teams that will keep us up?

    I agree.

It's all about opinions and where, as a club, we wanted to go. It's quite obvious Cryne had lost faith in Davey 'progessing' and I agree with that. It was time to go.

I'm not saying that the history predicts the future, all I'm saying is that if you look at our past 3 seasons it does suggest that Davey would've kept us up. That's all. We'll just have to wait and see if Robins does the same. I hope he does.

You suggested that we could ALL see it two years since

    ... including PC.

In 2007/08 results were masked by the distraction of the cup run.

In 2008/09 we started badly but on Dec 26th we had recovered to be only nine points behind the play offs and ten in front of relegation.

To me it's the period subsequent to that ie the whole of 2009 where the writing was on the wall.

I feel that PC should have weilded the axe at the end of last season but he remained loyal to SD. His thinking was probably along the lines of ' in 2008/09 we lost 16 points in the last five minutes of the games, if Simon changes his ways then we'll easily be mid table'.

Unfortunately PCwas to be wrong and is now paying the price through compensation etc.

As for the worst manager in 40 years, well I've been going for 35 and I'd beg to differ but it's all about opinions.

    You think wrong

and I think you are a hypocrite. If Davey had played 4-5-1 and rumoured to be bringing league 2 players in you'd be straight on the attack.

Of course I would - Davey had been in the job three years - Robins had three days

I can imagine you typing away with unashamed glee at 5pm last Saturday

    Hardly

and certainly doesnt compare against the warm feeling inside you and Super T mustve had when Davey got the sack. Mission accomplished.

    3 seasons. Just 3.

Hi Dave, whats harsh mate is the fact we all paid good money.....

week in week out to watch a team devoid of leadership and players under performing, add to this the mess Robins has inherited, I suppose its no good going over old ground lets hope the new guy gets it right for all concerned.

Plenty of managers have done the same with various clubs

and paid the penalty by being sacked. To suggest that he doesn't deserve another chance elsewhere (if offered) is in my opinion, harsh.
