when Davey talks to the fans via the star I'm sure he thinks he's talking to the gullible Cryne.

    RE: Only 1 Fecking striker!!

If Hume is fit then thats the right wing sorted.

Davey played him wide more than an out and out striker same as Bogdanovic. Defence comes first with Davey.

I think he's looking for a keeper to play on the wing.

We've got Daniel Bogdanovic, Jon Macken, hopefully Iain Hulme, and of course cover with Michael...

    1. Does he still have doubts over Humey?
    2. Is oddjob on his way? he seems to have forgotten about him. Is he the new Christenson this year?

fensive cover is the most pressing need and we need them in now

We have 4 1st team defenders and thats it

Thats no way to start a new season. We cant expect to play the season with just Bobby, foster, Moore and Kozzie

At least up front we have some cover, ignoring the quality for a minute

Burgundy Red in 'be patient' plea over work

Burgundy Red in 'be patient' plea over work

OAKWELL SOLUTIONS boss Burgundy Red has asked his clients to be patient as he seeks to get his finger out and do his job.
Burgundy has as yet has only managed to do one morning's work during his new contract.

"I'm not going to panic. It would be ideal if I'd managed to get a bit more work done by now, but you learn quickly that business doesn't work as an ideal," Burgundy told The BBS.

"We all want to see me get my finger out, we're still working on doing that."

    Worth a try.

RE: One is NOT enough !!!

so why has he given macken another contract, and another striker would mean Hume is on the bench or the new lad is on the bench.

I know what you mean but like he says about Steele, it's difficult to get someone in of quality when they know they are going to be a bit part.

    Right then..

If we are to believe the Cryne/Davey spin machine we only missed out on Kevin Phillips last year cos he didnt want to move his kids school....nothing to do with wages...

so how about we spend the money we were gonna spend on Phillips to bring a proven goalscoring "box office" signing in...

Its obvious he does'nt class Oddjob as 'a striker'

And of course he is 'waffling' because there are players out there available all the time. Either he is not trying to buy them or he has not got the money.

My fear is we will finish up with the 'nobody wanted em ' players week before kick off. (doh) (doh)

    Trust me mate

I don't mean a word of my post, it was all tongue-in-cheek.
Another relegation battle appears to be looming. I hope I'm wrong, nothing would please me more if that were the case, and I'll certainly be giving the players my full backing at every game I attend. But I've seen no positive signs from the club, as yet, that point me down the optimistic route.

    RE: Only 1 Fecking striker!!

If we sign a proper 15-20 goal a season man plus Hume back to his best then one would be enough. If Hume isn't going to be as good we certainly need 2. God knows how Hume will be though, we can only hope.

The problem is that Hume wasn't good enough to be our main striker last season before he got injured

No where near good enough last season. After he got injured he somehow became wayne rooney though

No it isn't, and yes you are

It's just that I can't understand why the lack of apparent activity from the club should be interpreted in a negative way. It could just as easily be positive.

I'll let you know my prognosis for the coming season when we have a pre-season pint on 7th August. As I suspect you will be on holiday then, I'll have to let you know my predictions by text.
