    OK, bad day, accepted

You have hardly ever abused me. Others have, though.

As you probably know I try to keep out of arguments and just post ******, but every now and again I get involved.

I stand by what I say about abuse in general though. People on here who get more involved than me get abused personally quite often, and I just don't see why we can't just all have different opinions. I suppose I should keep out but I sometimes feel drawn to defned people.

Anyway going to have a lie down. Must be the wrong time of the month.

    Anderson's squad???

He brought in Payton, Sheridan & Bullock. All the rest were brought in by Mel Machin, or promoted from our youth set up (ah, those were the days).

    Like I said

the previous season under Anderson we were very nearly relegated. Wilson's starting point was exactly the same as Davey's first full season in charge. ie a squad that had narrowly escaped relegation. The major difference being that Davey got a lot of money to spend that summer and Wilson got nothing. Davey also had the luxury of relatively large crowds, while Wilson's team often played in front of 3-4,000 in a two sided ground. I don't think anything we did in the 80s had a bearing on what Wilson did in the mid 90s.

    What about Malcom Shotton?

Wasn't he Wilson's first signing and he played about a dozen games that season.

He was brought back as a coach.

Big Mal had retired but then had to be re instated as a player, due to a defensive injury crisis towards the back end of the season.

    Your memory is ****

Wilson took over in June - an established (largely mid table) side

Davey took over in November - a newly promoted failing team in the bottom 3

We were talking about the first 100 games weren't we?

Wilson might have spent big after he had earned the right (and money) to do so by getting us into the premier but in the first 100 games he spent practically nothing, Davey on the other hand has spent millions.

    Beautiful creature

    The squirrel, I mean.
You ought to appreciate it, as there is no chance of seeing a wild, red squirrel round here.

I wondered why I remembered him as a coach rather than as a player and that explains it. I've just checked soccerbase, it turns out he scored on in that season too, not bad for an old bloke.

    Yes over first 100 games

I didn't intend to imply otherwise.

Anyway I like curry and beer.

Is that the one that Dreamboy kept going on about?

A 'wind assisted volley' or something? Possibly left footed
