    Perhaps the way they're treated

    Has also got something to do with the style of football played. Or that one had his hand tied behind his back financially, whereas the other has been backed by a wealthy benefactor.
    Then again, it's probably me that's got it all wrong. After all, reading some posters, the opposition was practically non-existent in the 90's, so perhaps Wilson's achievement in getting us promoted wasn't that special.
    I'm now a fully fledged, prissy, pompous,egocentric drama queen.

    perhaps the only comparable seasons

    are Davey's 2nd and wilsons premier campaign?

    Both with recently promoted teams, "heavy" investment in their own players, comparable disparity in budget between established teams in the division and ourselves...
