I was thinking the same but TBH not seen enough of him

    to judge for sure.

I would like to see a 4-4-2 with Kozluk as LB to see how Souza / Nyatanga perform. Perhaps the arrival of Foster who can play rb we may see this defensive set up today.

    Well said ...

I agree entirely. I don't dispute what Bournemouth Red has said, seems a very well thought out post, but unlike BR I don't see any of that as a negative.

For the first time for as long as I've followed the reds (mid 80's) we've get competition through the whole squad which is something we didn't have even in the promotion season.

The beauty now is that if a player chooses to sulk that he's not getting a game it gets him nowhere because all that means is the player that is keeping him out is more likely to retain his place in the starting 11. Sulk and warm the bench or knuckle down and take the chance when it comes? - There's your options.

This is why I think all the gloom & doom is somewhat premature, and I'll repeat that even if we're on the end of a tonking today. It is going to take time to get all these new players to understand each other, possibly another season, but for the first time in as long as I can remember I'm actually starting to see a long term plan at BFC.

    what worries me though

is the fact that we have signed all these players yet start the season playing players out of position! FFS!! Hes not signed the right players imho. Too many attackers and not enough defenders. Pur defence is the problem and still is yet we have still not signed a proven championship centre half. Not had one since Mogs!

    Kozluk (rb/lb ??)

    Bruma (rb)

    Werling (lb ?)

    Souza (lb / ch ?)

    Foster (ch/rb ?)

    Nyatanga (ch on loan)

6 defenders brought in and still not addressed central defence properly with 2 quality centre halves.

    Davey hasn't backed Reid

over the boo boys. He said in his interview that he didn't hear any booing, he hadn't heard Reids interviewand that he didn't want to comment on it. Is that backing him? Sounded to me that SD thought he shouldn't have said anything.

    Its all been said

competition for places and all that. And we still dont have one of the bigger squads in the division. Bearing in mind that half a dozen of the squad are young lads who really could do with going out on loan. IMO we still need a couple of quality players (CH and winger).

Arsene Wenger said in his Sky interview yesterday, to integrate more than three new players into a team usually disrupts a team and it could take up to six months for them to click. (that's not counting Manchester City)

    well obviously

but you need strong options on the bench these days, not bench warmers

    I'm more concerned about

this lad we've just brought in on a short term loan because thats the kind of thing that can really piss players off, playing for your place against other permanent staff is one thing is one thing but feeling that the manager has so little faith in you that he's going to borrow somebody else rather than play you is another.

Think the Everton lad's more creative a player, and if so that's no bad thing because other than Howard we've nobody that can make things happen in a game. I'd hate to be relying on set pieces and hopeful crosses into the box for our goals.

Then again, if he's only here for a month what happens after that ?

thats what I meant really I do think we need somebody like that but imho short term loans seem to do more harm than good 9unless its to cover an injury crisis etc)

Spot on. You have to be more confident with the squad we have now. Choices!
