But League 1 isn't the prospect yet. Our fate is in our own hands and I have faith in the team to not go down. the question is surely how far up the league we finish and how many points. if we finish with say 57 points and 16th then surely that is progress, especially given the amount of time we haven't had key players this season in colace, hume, foster and losing howard
Agreed, 57 points would be progress but i just dont see it happening. We shouldnt be in this position this season; three years running now. Its wearing thin and something has to change.
Yeah but why not make your mind up at the end of the season when you know where we finish instead of now when you don't. I don't doubt anyone who's anti-Davey's support of the club, but i do think it really doesn't help the team and has been a shadow hanging over the season with what if and mights. Lots of fans had us dead and buried by september. I don't think you should sack managers outside of the transfer windows, maybe even the season. You set yourslef up for a season and see what happens. If at the end of the season we can't see where we're going then bring in someone else. But why have this negativity now when Davey is the man in charge, lets get behind the man as he wants the same things as we do
Do you seriously believe he is any luckier than any other manager? He's had horrendous bad luck at times. Serious knee injuires last year to two of our best players, Hume this season, Andersons berevement at a key stage this season, Colace's clearance problems etc etc. And yes he;s been lucky too but i don't think either outweigh the other. Ok Donny game probably saved him but Ferguson was one game off getting the sack at Man u (not suggesting for a second Davey is comparable) And Chelsea wan't lucky, we played them off the pitch.
I agree hes not worse than Spackman or Parkin I agree that he inherited a weak squad BUT the current squad is the best hes had in his time at Barnsley and more importantly its his handpicked squad. I accept that we have injuries and suspensions but dont all teams? It concerns me that the standard of football seems to be getting worse. Since the little run of games over chrismas we have been bloody awful with the exception of the off 45 minutes.
please read that quote. i think some, if not most, don't realise that in the grand scheme of things we are a small club in a small town. the fact we are where we are is brilliant (being in the championship, not the relegation zone) and if we were mid table id accept it. if you want success at this club, you are at least looking at getting it by building the team and infrastructure over 5+ years minimum...
id give him credit.................... sack him and let him feel the CREDIT crunch!!! he is beyond useless!!!
months of bad results, job under threat, pick up a win, people are short sighted and drop the pressure on him. then back to months of bad results etc If you get bad results for months then one or two good ones then that is simply LUCK. you are BOUND to get a lucky result every so often by facing a team when they are having an off day or getting a bad ref that favours you etc. If davey was a good manager he wouldnt find himself in the position of being on the verge of unemployment on a routine basis
RE: Therein lies the issue 18 games into our first season back in the championship and bang. Watch out for snipers and sensible people.
