Really think it’s time to wind this thread down now.
It started with folk expressing genuine shock and empathy with an awful event.
    But it’s getting away now

    So?

I’m pretty sure I’d disagree with most of his political leanings and votes. I still don’t want to see an aging man butchered to death doing the job he had no need to still be doing if he didn’t choose to still serve for his community.

He was a Tory. A brexiteer. Things I staunchly oppose in the main - but he was a husband, a dad, and by all accounts a bloody good constituency mp.

The events yesterday are dark and grim. The terrorism element is a worry - though I do wonder whether that part might have been exaggerated due to the attacker being a Somali origin muslim. Time will tell.

So what do you think all the left wing, anti-Tories should be saying on this thread? Should we all be praising a murderer and suggesting he gets a community service award?
I genuinely can't see the logic of your post if you yourself can't see that anyone of any political persuasion with any basic decency feels revulsion at cold blooded murder. Unbelievable Jeff

I didn't say anything about wanting him dead or deserving to die. Looking at someone stabbed to death, as tragic and awful as it is, doesn't mean you can't point out that their role as an MP contributed to making peoples lives more miserable.

Pretty sure that was repealed, along with arson in a naval dockyard years ago. There is no death penalty in the UK & I'm glad about that. Not saying some ******** don't deserve to die, just an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. Just lock them up.

What a ludicrous post' we all have opinions on politics and may hate what some mp's stand for but that doesn't mean we want to see them dead' life is precious and trumps everything else and to think that any sane person wouldn't or shouldn't have great sympathy is crazy..

Terrible news no one deserves to die in this manner, and just thinking there's a hell of a lot of hate in this country, hate the E.U., hate the migrants crossing the channel, hate the people without a job, and this week's new one hate your G.P. and the surgery there is more hate than I have ever known and I'm 70. all or most of it is caused by the media and this government, just been watching a clip from GB News where a woman called Anna or Nana Aquer said openly that it would be a good thing if the migrants trying to get to Britain were left to drown as it would stop them coming over in boats, The hatred has to stop or we may lose more than just Joe Cox and David Amess.
