Boycott has forgotten more than most people will ever know about cricket...You don't become as good a batsmen as he was without knowing a thing or two...
Yes and you don't become the leading opening run scorer in the History of Test Cricket without knowing how to Bat, Maybe someone could tell him next time he rips into CBE Alistair Cook, an England captain that's won in Both India and South Africa whilst been captain.
Henry with his constant mistakes like saying Jake Bell has been left out of the team is just part of his charm as an old man. Boycott is brilliant for a rant and speaks alot of sense. Far too outspoken to be on the ECB board. Listening to him through our second innings of the first test was like a stand up routine. Michael Vaughan is the voice of reason and Phil Tufnell comes across like the listener is just in a pub with him chatting cricket. Not a fan of Agnew but he's done really well for someone with an average career in the sport. As for Sky I like Bumble in small doses because he likes the sound of his own voice abit much. Nasser is boring to listen to and we don't need Nick Knight or Shane Warne. Beefy, Mikey, Gower, Bumble and Athers is all they need. On coverage of stuff like IPL, the current Caribean Premier League ect I think Ian Bishop is one of the best in the business. He's on the current WI vs India test match trying his best to make it sound interesting.
Agree about Bumble, great entertainment, which after all is what watching/listening to sport is about. That's why I prefer TMS, a good balance of the best experts in Vaughan and Boycott and entertainment from Tuffers and co. Nobody could ever beat Richie Benaud though, god rest his soul.
i'd completely forgotten about Tuffers. He has grown into the role and is now one of the top entertainers on the programme. As I'm working on my own it's like listening to a non stop chat with my favourite friends, I love it.
Never said you didn't. I think Cooks a great player, but I was talking about Boycott. Stop fishing for an argument...
Also, both averages are similer, but Boycott's is slightly better. But I suppose if you don't think a clean sheet is the pinnacle of a defenders game, then a good average for a batsmen isn't important either... I'm only pillocking by the way, don't take it seriously!
Cook deserved criticism a few years ago when he couldn't help feeling for delivery wide of off stump and edging what felt like every one. I bet he would have killed fur Geoff's discaplinw at that point...
