A lot of your evidence seems to be anecdotal

    rather than factual

RE: I'll tell thi what.............I bet Tyrone is not old enough to remember the last Tory debacle

................There's a huge huge difference to what we have now to what there was only 12 short years ago

And yes, things are far from perfect now, there's a load of things that could be better
Crime for one............but crime in the area of Barnsley where I live is nothing like as bad as it was 15 years ago.
Every other day someone nearby was being burgled at that time.
Its very rare I hear about a burglary in the area these days

You are seen by a doctor and within 18 weeks of that referral you are seen and treated (if required) i dont see how that is cooking the books? in the past you could have waited up to 6 months from the initial referral

But the fact still stands, we've dropped down the league tables and while things may well have been stone age, people left school with a higher standard of education.

    Not sure about that..

Believe results tables etc and you may as well believe A-level results are better year on year :)

Give it 10 years for the nursery education policy and new school facilities to take effect and I'm certain the standard of education will have taken a quantum leap unless the work is undone by those with no desire to educate the masses.

    Cameron LOOKED Embarrassed

He was like a stuck record over the Treaty of Lisbon - which the majority of the public will never have even heard of.

Also, how CREEPY is Eric Pickles?

One look at this smarmy b*stard should remind people just what sort of individuals are lurking in the background should the tories get back into power. Truly, God help us...

I agree. The Peter Mandelson situation is also scary - he isn't even an Elected MP is he?

Not to mention Neil Kinnock - he quit british politics and got himself a nice cushy number in the EU. I guess they are all at it eh?

According to the teacher's at our lass' school

And all the ones she meets at various meetings she goes to education has improved immeasurably under Labour after years of leaving it to rot under the Tories. What do you base your view on?

    RE: Not sure about that..

The education system is much better now. I was educated between 1955 and 66 and the standard of education and the teachers were much, much worse.

Most of the teachers were emergency trained after the war and wouldn't get any where near a class room today. A graduate teacher was as rare as a millionare living in Lundwood.

If you passed the 11 plus you had a load more money spent on you than people like me who failed that examination. I went to a streamed comprehensive and had two cousins in the Grammar stream. Even then it was evident that they had more money spent on them. We had to share text books, they had their own copies, we had poor quality exercise books, they had loose leaf foolscap binders. They were educated by graduate teachers, the teachers we had would struggle to get an "A" level.

We were educated for one thing. That was to keep you in your place until we were sent down the pit or to some other manual job. In my case I became a motor mechanic.

I did recover from that poor education system thanks to Harold Wilson's Labour Party.

If you are wondering what I'm on about , I can say it in three words. The Open University.

The Tories were at one point going to close the OU. Education for the massess didn't fit their philosophy.

Education to the Tories means Eton and Oxbridge.Thats the only education system they understand.

If my education had been left to the Tories I certainly would not have FTC, B.A., B.Sc, and PGCE after my name.

Under the Tories I was written of as a failure at 11 years old.

Education..................watch KES......and you have seen my education..........compare that to...

........the education that kids get today..................NO COMPARISON !!!

But But But..............theres still alot that can be done to improve things at school..........e.g. respect, discipline, manners
And the Tories if they play their cards right on this one they could make huge in roads

    I agree mate

Where I live, it used to be Tory (Edweena Curry) but Labour got in in 1997, a vote for Lib Dem here would let the scum back in. We need PR so that people can vote for the party they WANT not against the party they don't want.
