Just think I ought to point out he was the man who lost Adomah for their second goal. Was also he who lost Jukewhatsitsface in the first half, for one of his many misses. Oh, and TK was the man playing Jukewhatsisface onside when he missed that sitter.

Jutkiewicz should never have been his man if that was the case, theres about a 1 foot height difference.

2nd goal he looked like O'Brien's man to me - unless O'Brien had resorted to marking the corner flag, he was stood in no man's land.

I'm confused Whitey, you said already on this thread that he was solid but not spectacular? I cannot begin to understand how a player can score a header in the 6 yard box with both Wiseman and JOB in the box and you can blaim a midfielder for not marking him.

I said he wasn't spectacular, but great in possession. Never called him solid, because he isn't.

I'm not blaming anyone. I don't know who is told to pick up who. I can only go off what I saw live at the game, and the replays since.

Fox was nearest man to Adomah, but was just stood still by the time he scored. I'd suggest he was marking him.

And it wasn't a dig at him. I gave my view early in the thread as you say. I like him. For the reasons I stated. But I then saw a load of posts suggesting he was solid etc and had to point out that he wasn't (in my opinion).

Also, having watched the match replay on Player, Adam Brammar was blaming M'Voto for playing Jukwhatsisface onside. He didn't. It was TK. Neither was it M'voto for the other sitter, it was Fox. And the first sitter came after he turned TK all too easily.

If folk are going to blame/criticise/praise people it helps to know the facts.

Calling Fox solid yesterday is like calling Paddy a **** dribbler.

Actually thought we should have brought Dawson on for Mellis instead of Cywka. He tracks back more.

Mellis was more central than a winger, whereas once Cywka came on, he was like a proper winger. This gave them proper space to attack TK.

I'd have brought Hassell on and played him central, moved Perkins wider.

If you look at when the ball is played in Fox is on the edge of the box and both Wiseman and JOB are closer to Adomah, now wiseman was picking up a player, JOB was just stood in no mans land with a Boro player someway behing him and out on the edge of the box. SO I blaim the system which meant that Wiseman was marking a player and yet there were 2 players further to his right, only one of which was actually in a dangerous position. In reality either Wiseman or JOB should have picked up someone inside the 6 yard box.

Fox adds a calmness, he retains the ball excellently.

He's not there to pull trees up, he's there to receive the ball/win the ball, and move it on. Retain possession without panicking.

He always looks like he has more time than our other players. Sign of a decent player that.

I reckon come Christmas you might all be raving about him - although maybe not as his game will never be explosive or spectacular in the way paddy could be - and is already in patches. I thought fox was excellent yesterday and a big part of the reason boro, including t'old buttercup (both fox and Perkins will know his game well let's face it) were very quiet first half.

Any road, two easy home wins coming up... By the end of November, looking at the fixtures, very kind compared to what's gone before, we could easily have three more home wins with the brum game, and dare I hope an away one - millwall don't look overly great. Get a point off mick and it could be 16 points from 6 games. I honestly think that's possible. I'd take ten though....
