Thought he should have saved it. No problem with him as a keeper though, he's usually excellent. If that's the only mistake he makes between now and the end of the season we've got a amazing keeper. Just have to accept it and move on, and it didn't cost us.
Thought he should have saved it, but I also thought the ball seemed to be moving about alot from shots. Davies' kicks seem to travel alot further than usual.
I don't agree with Seattle_Red, I rate Davies, but there was the time he came rushing out of goal and got nowhere near it.
Aye gerrin closer to row z. gerrin a bit of the Luke Steeles abart him. NAr he kicked one or two that went over the top to their keeper but took some good shots low darn wi his body behind em and his handling is improving nar he has cut art that punching owt in the air malarky.
If you think that was a very poor game you must be watching De Gea or Neuer every week, he makes 1 mistake and theres a thread on it saying he had a poor game.
That was Robbo's fault he should have held back and stopped the defender but he kept running and nearly ran it through Davies
Should have saved it , but lets be fare, we're talking about a keeper with less than what, 100 professional games? His catches of crosses today was awesome.
He should have saved it. But was it any worse than Winnalls miss in the first half. Winnall should have scored. Davis should have saved. But we won and Davies and Sam get a lot more right than they get wrong.
From where I was sitting right behind the line of trajectory Forest's free kick was superbly placed. Not much pace but hit in the only place Davies couldn't reach it. To be fair I've not been able to face watching the replay so I can't comment any further. As for the Norwich goal, it seemed to pick up pace as it bounced quite near to Davies. Not a total howler but understandable why he's disappointed with himself.
Both goals were Redfearnesque to me. Neil bobbled many in from outside the area that looked saveable but were actually in the one place the keeper couldn't save the /and or they were slow to judge the pace either faster or slower than anticipated.
I'd agree with that. When Redfearn first started firing them in from long range, I was amazed at the number of shots which seemed to dip or bounce at exactly the right (or wrong if you're a keeper) moment. The regularity with which it happened over the next few seasons suggest that it was very deliberate. Lansbury's free kick was very similar to the one Redders scored at Hillsborough in the Premier League.
Well he can be a liability when he makes mistakes like yesterday. He gave a goal away. I can't interpret that as anything other than him being a liability at times. I know he's young and learning but his errors seem to come from momentary lapses of concentration. I could be talking about John Stones here. Great prospect but needs to eliminate the unforced errors. I'd imagine the club is working on this.
All goalkeepers make mistakes that lead to goals, it's an occupational hazard. I'm sure his overall play will improve as he matures and gets more experienced at this level but he is far from being a liability. Making mistakes, especially when they're seldom, does not make him a liability. Yes he made a mistake and it cost us a goal but judged over the full game he was very good yesterday.
Its interesting with all these comments, whilst he should have saved it, none has commented on the fact that two defenders let the guy get away to get the shot in the first place. Don't forget the brilliant save he made last week. Who'd be a goalkeeper?
