I dont think anyone thinks that is enough. What some have said is that theyd prefer a bad player trying hard than a gifted player not trying. Although im sure wed all prefer a good player who tries.

To put it another way imagine its time for an exam at school. There are three kids taking part. A genius. A relatively smart student and a pretty thick student who only knows the basics.
The genius never even bothers to pick his pen up while the otber two try their hardest. Who is going to get the worst result? My bet is the smart lad who tried will do best but even the dumb kid who tried his best will do better than the lazy genius who couldnt be arsed to pick his pen up.
