    I thought Dawson had a below average first half - gave the ball away on more than one occasion when a simple ball was on and his touch was poor. Worked hard though.

    Second half he was much improved but I think some of the praise on here is an over compensation from his antics last week. Technically a poor to average game but bags and bags of heart and effort from him yesterday.

    I think most of us know that unfortunately when he has the ball at his feet he doesn't look up to Championship standard. However, what he does provide is energy, guts, determination and the all important dirty work that people like Mellis just don't want to do. That is no criticism of Mellis, it is simply there to say each and every player in the team is there for a purpose. They have their own roles, and Dawson does his very well indeed for me. I always believe that when you have a player like that in your side, it even makes players who don't normally play like that look at them and then put in that extra bit themselves that they normally wouldn't - and yesterday it showed.
