    Personally, I'll be bitterly disappointed.

To see both de Silva & Muller leave this summer. I hope Simon Davey has targetted some decent players to bring into the club and freshen up the quality of the squad.

I agree. But modern day football dictates that clubs like Barnsley have to sell players when decent offers come in for players with only 12 months left on their contracts.
It's a fact we have to accept unfortunately.

For once it wouldnt be Davey at fault, it always seems to have been like that at Oakwell as far back as I can remember, in the majority of cases we seem to have bought dear and off loaded cheap even before Bosnan and all that

    Sad, but very true

The team that takes to the field on 8th August could look very different to the one at Plymouth. On another issue, I'd love it if the likes of Butterfield, Adam, Potter & Noble-Lazarus show the ability required to become regulars in the first team squad.

    RE: Amount

Heard it was around a million, SD wants abit more for him seen as we paid 750k to bring him here.

Think SD's gonna come back with another offer of 400-450k? Don't think he wants to pay the required 500k though.

The valuation of a player isn't Davey's decision, it's the club's. I think you will find that it is the board of directors that decide how much to let one of the club's assets go for.

I doubt it? There highest ever transfer is 250k i think, don't see there chairman splashing out. Wages could be a stumbling block for both teams anyway!

Yep me too thought on his day he was brilliant, in most of the games he was good last season. Did have his bad days at the office but eh every player has them. When his mother died and he went back to Brazil he was very much missed and I could remember thinking in games when he was in Brazil christ we are missing de silva in the middle of midfield. The game when he did come back he was superb (can’t remember which game it was) and made such a difference to our team. The lad only got back the night before! SD came on the radio after and said when de silva plays well we play well, I for one could not agree more with SD. Don’t normally agree with SD but he was spot on about de silva. If de silva does go then we will need a pretty good replacement, hope if we sign Adam he is up to it.

Half a Million isnt a lot for a footballer in todays market,we could do with a midfielder with a bit of passion.

    Reliable source and all that?

£1m + is a very good offer, I wonder if Brizzle City will try and come in with a bit more. Fair play to the club for holding firm though

BBC. A Bristol Fan mate of mine told me it was reported on their BBC radio as a bid of seven figures has been rejected by Barnsley. Madness if you ask me.
