Its almost like a great paradox isn't it?
We score loads but are just awful to watch.
I must admit a lot of the games we have won, you come away thinking ...."how have we just won that?"...then you try reason that the sign of a good team takes points when you play bad. Then week after week you think, why are we so bad...why can't we semi organise these players (defence mainly)....into some kind of cohesive unit? and that is where I'm dumbfounded...its not like we play real Madrid every week!
We just look soooo poor, watching Blackie today, I thought that exactly what I want from us ....power/pace....excitement.

I'll be there next week, but at the moment I doubt I'll be renewing. Just can't do it. I've enjoyed the pre-match in the Dove way more than the football - that's been genuinely hard work. I'll pick & choose a few and take on a few more of the jobs I've been turning down this season. Sorry Barnsley, but it's been absolutely fu¢king dog-egg and I'm out*

    * will probably change my mind before deadline

We were sh1t3 today no doubt. ButI thought were excellent, bar the 'tackle' on Tuesday.

Sacking him is mental though, it is what it is unfortunately.

We need to regroup in the Summer though, because we aren't a great spot currently.

Just a heads up based on my 65 years watching the reds.

If you are in your 20s you have another 50 years of this to put up with.

However, in that time, we have been to Wembley 5 times, played in the Premier League and an FA Cup Semi.

My Grandad missed the FA Cup final in 1912 and then saw jack **** for the next 70 years before he passed away in the 80s.

His Cousin was Ernest Hine and his son was obviously Eric. I suppose he saw them both for England but **** being a Barnsley fan.

Complete and and utter rubbish - are you trying to tell other people that they shouldn’t commit themselves to supporting the team that they’ve followed all there lives personally I’ve been there every year since the late ‘60’s and don’t consider myself better than anyone else following The Reds but you seem to be deriding anyone who is saying they’ll be there next season. You do what you want to do but don’t have a go at anyone who commits themselves to supporting their team through thick and thin - believe me I’ve seen thinner!

Being a football fan. You take the highs with the lows. And we've had plenty of both in my 58 yrs watching.
I am so disappointed we may end up also rans this season. But most on here thought relegation or mid table was inevitable. If we make the play offs it's a decent achievement given the upheaval last summer. But I will cheer us on and hope for the best. Next season if we manage promotion is a brand new start like almost every other. One thing about us is the consistency of our inconsistency. Allus been the case.

Well said. I suggested similar & was told I must have money to burn the other week.

To me while ever I can afford to support the reds & family / work circumstances don’t get in the way I’ll be there.

You do know that the opposite of a ‘better fan’ is ‘most easily disappointed fan’? Lots of fans contesting this at the minute.

As I’ve said before I’ll always be there, it’s in the blood after all this time. Really fear that season tickets will take a big hit this time though. I’ll be amazed if we even get near 7k.
The club needs to announce an extension tomorrow for at least another two weeks. There’s another announcement they could make too which would help massively but I’ll not go there….

It very much is, part of the problem if you accept declining standards, you accept no investment (and btw putting short term capital into a business you own, is not investment", "coz back in my day we played in div 4", dinosaur thinking. Part of the problem if you're willing to renew no matter what, all of them upstairs need to be gone. Hurt em in the pocket, where do people realistically think we'll be when we lose 7 players from this season and sell Jalo, Phillips and Connell. Bottom half of league 1, I'm sure that's fine tho coz "through thick or thin". Part of the problem if you enable these idiots to own us

Carry on supporting this board all you want, blind loyalty. Everyone has the right to their opinion and to renew. However I think "thick and thin" is a ******** argument to defend people at bfc not having a clue. So to you, I say "utter rubbish" if you don't see what's Infront of you. Stevie wonder would tell you it's time for Collins to go and should have since September

Division 3 North Champions surely? The only thing I've seen them win is the JPT.

It's not supposed to be anything. For some it's through thick and thin for others it needs to be enjoyable.
I had a season ticket from 1997 to 2022 without gap. On 2 occasions I went to all the away games in the season too. Then two seasons ago I stopped.
I haven't set foot in Oakwell since (been to a few away with friends)
I didn't scream and shout about it. I just assessed that it had become a chore to go and decided it wasn't worth it.
For me it wasn't the financial costs of being worth it but rather the time.
