I went in yesterday and it wasn't great. Got in there just after half 4 and it wasn't too bad but 5 minutes before kick off it was 3 deep at the bar and once it had kicked off it was 5 deep. I wouldn't have be surpised if some people spent the vast majority of the first half queuing. There was about 5 people serving, its not enough. Pints were served in glass as well which is good, no-one likes plastic glasses, but when the other 2 bar staff just appear to be washing glasses and carrying them about it does seem strange. The second half people appeared to give up trying to get a drink. It doesn't look good for the other England games considering this was a 5 o'clock kick off on a Monday. Friday will be messy. . . .
I was there from about quarter past, straight to bar but that was the only pint I had. We were right in the corner next to the 'VIP' area and it took one lad 20 minutes to get a pint. F.ck that.
Cheers for the heads up lads, l'll be giving that one a miss, last game l watched we queued for 20 mins before giving in. Trouble is the town's got a lack of a real sports bar, with scantily clad birds in hot pants, like the Players bars etc... If JLWBL purchased a bar l reckon it would be right up my street... Titastic
We were right at the other end near the kitchen. One of my mates took about 25 minutes. He was well ****ed off.
Are they doing them buckets of beer they did for worldcup got 2 of them before ko and just chilled out
Few years ago England had a qualifier against Sweden, it was Sat 5pm KO and we went in what is now White Bear, not sure what it was then, but they did 4 pint pitchers, we just got a couple of those just before game, a couple more at half time and we were sorted.
It used to be Assembly and it was decent but White Bear is a bit *****. Don't know if they have any screens installed for the Euros but they don't normally. Very poor choice for watching football in tarn in general.
Watched my first game in tarn last night. Went in Chennels, there's some characters in there isn't the? Fair play though, got served within a few minutes and there's plenty of screens.
Can't beat it for service and viewing. Did you see the bloke with the walking stick going around, at some point he had some "top gun" shades on, shaking everyones hand and then blowing on his pint for a good half hour? Like a better dressed Kipper. At first l thought he was drunk, then l thought he was on acid, then a girl said he had MS, l felt terrible afterwards. She could have been lying.
Was in Chennels on Sat afternoon, I reckon that no matter where you are you can see a TV screen, and decent ale that's cheaper than Wetherspoons!
Not really, They've done a good job. Plenty of screens for sport, decent prices and decent ale and the grubs not bad either.
