I'd have given Dike that pen all day long and if we'd have got another one he would have took that one aswell. Hindsight is a wonderful thing wish i had it, lighten up T055 POTS. " YOU REDS "
Yes, Dike should've scored and so should Helik. But, I didn't think Helik should have been so far advanced for the penalty at all. We were 2 up and should've been focused on keeping what we'd got - had he been on the half-way line we may not have conceded from their attack.
All for letting Dike have it, he was on his hat trick, won the penalty and caused them issues all game. He just needs to spend a bit of time with Cauley practising them as it was a poor effort
Abso fookin lootly.......because the lesson from today, as others on here have said, is to apply the same level of planning and organisation to taking penalties as the coaching team do to everything else. So.....Monday morning.......sort out penalty takers from 1 to 11 and that doesn't change whether DD is on a hat-trick or is on 9 waiting to score his tenth.
I think you're wrong. The lads on the commentary said that Alex looked to the bench and they approved it. However, the lads on the comm could be wrong!!
I remembered it differently Helen - thanks for pointing it out. Doesn't change my view that he shouldn't have been there though!
Erm - apparently not. Mowatt himself said VI wasn't happy. Anyway - whatever we've won. Who cares!! COYR!!
Add Chelsea to those linked to him...... https://us.as.com/us/2021/03/31/futbol/1617202921_478713.html I think I would actually rather have him up front then some over those Chelsea have who have been a waste of money (Havertz and Werner) or are not good enough for a side expected to challenge for the title (Giroud and Abraham).
Plus, I think Helik and Dike almost got in each other's way for the rebound. If Helik isn't there Dike gets onto it anyway, and probably smashes it in.
When you look at the sort of money being bandied around for players like Haaland and Kane, you can see why teams such as Chelsea and Man Utd etc would take a £20m gamble on Dike. He's got all the raw tools needed, and with a top-notch coaching team and training regime, he could be a top-quality striker for years to come and a relatively bargain price...
