    Gullit started as an attacking midfielder and worked his way backwards I think.

    Essien is a midfielder who can play defence.

    More cover? Agree with most of your comment, but not as far as more cover goes. What would happen when Anderson and Colace are available? Where would the other player fit in - 3rd choice? If you mean a loan player though then I fully agree, a 3 month loan would cover the situation. Still my preferred choice though would be Andy Johnson, but for some reason Davey isn't his friend.
