I know it is, but I have been shoved from the half way line twenty rows up to the corner flag at the bottom , why should us from the west stand be treated to any other season ticket holder ?
Well obviously not you but if fans like you say would vote with their feet & these charlotens look like losing 5000 fans as you put it then the penny might drop that they got it wrong & cannot mess fans about
They don't care. Season ticket money means nowt in the grand scheme of things, they are here to make money trading players and in the long term by acquiring oakwell for peanuts
I said straight away - the easiest and most comfortable solution would have been to relocate all West Stand tickets to the side of the North Stand which is unused. With 2,000 away fans, and around 1,000 West Stand tickets, there’d be 3,000 seats to segregate. Plenty. And we’d already played Millwall…. That would have given good facilities, plenty of room to sit together and well undercover. The fact they didn’t, clearly shows it was mainly a choice to free up stewards for extra away fans……
Specifically in terms of the Reading Stadium….. They will have plenty of ticket data over the years, to calculate the optimum amount of seats needed to be available to offer an economic equilibrium for sales/profit. Every sports stadia does. Reading holds just over 24k. They could reduce capacity for certain games to 15k, and still have spare seats.
Funny enough thats how it used to work , you bought a season ticket for a stand & it was unreserved, if the stand holds 4000 & there were 3000 season tickets then people sat or stood where they liked , remaining capacity was for pay on the day .
i know a steward at Oakwell and every home game this season has been understaffed in all home ends, so much so that every away following has brought there own stewards this season. imo the problem was highlighted millwall game when it pissed it down and and all in west lower congregated at back blocking exits
Obvious solution, write to the West stand season ticket holders explaining why that can't happen. And offering a change of seat elsewhere in the ground where they can be undercover.
