Not worried about Derby tbh. more worried about the weather.
Fact is. if we get to 350/400 b4 lunch a lead of 274/324 Would mean derby would need 500+ to make any kind of game of it. Upwards of 4 sessions with 4 sessions left. Why delay any longer.

If the weather is more favourable than looks. x11 is right, go for 450 if possible, but a big ask in the 110 overs and full batting points.

Actually, we have the most bonus bowling points in the Division right now.
Does that maybe suggest that batting is continually letting us down ?.

Certainly been the weaker of the two but I think ‘continually’ is slightly harsh - we might have lost a game or two but the weather has won most games for everyone all season. There haven’t been that many results in games, especially in div 2. Sussex excepted, every other side has drawn more games than they’ve won and lost added together.

A quick look at the forecast suggests plenty of play today and tomorrow in Chesterfield, should be plenty enough to tie up a result.

450 looks achievable b4 lunch or very shortly afterwards. No need to bat on then imo. Lead of 374. Even with clear skies Derby would have to bat out today and all day tomorrow to get to a reasonable target for their bowlers to aim at.

Opened my big fat gob. Sorry x11/Helen.
Wonder if they'll declare or go for that last bonus point. 48 runs required. Plenty of overs. (20 left) Early lunch I'm guessing will help make that decision.

Hell of a lot more rain in chesterfield than the met office app predicted this morning.

Surely we declare overnight and steam into them in the morning?

You’d think so but I think we’ll let Tatts get to his century first. Shouldn’t take long.

Enough decent weather there the next two days to win this. Need to win them all from now on.
