Never believe what you read I'll be astonished if the starting 11 is anything other than: Steele Hassell Foster Nyatanga Kozluk JCR Togwell Howard Devaney Macken Nardiello Van Hoomet is cover at left back, dont see him playing right back in front of Hassell.
We are at home against the 3rd bottom side.............. who haven't won away since November 3rd 2007
what on earth is wrong with a midfield of JCR Leon Howard Devaney

van Hoemet is a right back- I recall one game at home where he dribbled 50 yards up the left wing and never touched the ball with his left foot once!!
Can't see Togwell playing. He's had chance to play him before this game but always gone with different options
And we've tried that once this season against Colchester....
Still think DeSilva will trot out tomorrow.....

Last time I saw him play right back he was crap. Hassell is more solid and much better in the air, aside from the first 45 against Babel, havent seen him put a foot wrong at right back, Van Hoomet is too weak for me, with Foster moving inside, Hassell is the obvious choice.
I have a sneaking suspicion you may be right the original article was full of coulds and maybes-Simon Spinmeister strikes again ??? in fact maybe he only played Hassell in midfield v QPR because he knew Laws would be watching-brilliant!!!
I'd hope Davey learnt from last year that versus Wendies it'll be a battle and he needs as many battlers out there as he can. Togwell might not be the most accomplished but he fits the bill for this game.
RE: We are at home against the 3rd bottom side.............. Nothing wrong with that either, just not Bobby Hassell in midfield, 2nd half on Tuesday he was chasing shadows doesn't have the positional sense of a natural midfielder, he only looked comfortable when he was on the edge of our box.
you misundestand me-Hassell in front of van Houmet anyday........ it's just you said he was cover for left back-he isn't but he can play there if there's no-one else
Exactly he's cover in case Kozluk doesnt make the full 90, all the more reason to have him on the bench.
See, I'll be very surprised if Togwell plays.. It seems to me that Davey really doesn't rate him. Which is stupid, as he's a far better midfielder than Hassell will ever be.
As much as I admire Davey's conviction, there's courage and there's madness. pick your best 11 Simon else get ready for a shoeing.
it's a defensive measure which isn't needed against a poor Wednesday side- we should be on the offensive from the whistle-they have conceded 14 of 23 away from home in the first half and six of those in the first 15 minutes.
they have conceded first in 10 of the 16 games winning 2 drawing 1 and losing 7 of the 10

IMHO With a weakened back line (yes, despite several blunders this season I think we will be weaker without him) I think that midfield is a bit lightweight. Especially if Howard needs to keep his nose clean for the Chelsea game.
