will be a real shame,he has been an important part of our Team for the past two seasons staying up 06/07 and the cup run could we have done it without him ? He's worth more than that as well!

 

Best news of the summer , I am sorry but I just dunt rate the guy think he flatters to decieve half a dozen good crosses a season dunt make him a good player.

Totally agree mate. I do think we should keep hold of him as a back-up but he's simply not good enough IMO. Can't beat a man, not good enough at crossing and not good enough all round.

Wouldn't say we'll be better off without him, but he won't be a big loss - as much a nice guy as he seems.

Good luck to him if he does go though.

 

For the life in me I cannot see why some people think he's one of our better players! Each to their own, I know. But he has shown nothing of the sort to me.

 

If they think they can replace Hoolahan with him they are living in cloud cuckooland and it wont take them long to realise it.

 

It would be hard to replace Hoolahan for £250k but to try and replace him for £150k on Devaney is bad business. Having said that I would have hoped to have got more than £150k for him - by todays market prices he's surely worth a bit more.

 

That is very true mate. He helped get us promoted and then helped keep us here both seasons since being back in the championship. In that three years he's been a first team regular and been involved for two years in the second tier of English football and been part of an amazing cup run setting up Foster at Anfield and Odejayi against Chelsea. He's got to be worth 500K for sure.

500k , but i think Davey rates Disco, the lad has been a credit to the football club over the 3 years or so he's been there, and one of the poster has a great point, even when he's not playing well he does'nt hide, he's a strong carachter, and would be in my first and personally think will be in Daveys first 11 at Q.P.R

 

I wont be sad to see him go to be honest. Too inconsistent. Could count his good games last season with my 10 fingers. Cant even run at players so has to pass it back to full back everytime. Simply not good enough!

the guy cannot cross a ball, he always wants to take the same man on at least twice, before kicking to no-one.
If he actually tried to shoot more he would be better , bcos when he does that he has scored a coulpe of crackers.

 

Not a chance in hell. C'mon mate, it's all about opinions. My opinion is that JCR does have his negatives, but Devaney has far more IMO than JCR ever will.

 

Are you the one talking about Devaney here or JCR? I thought you were slagging off JCR there but the description seems to sum Disco up quite nicely.

500k? Pfft. Why? Cos he put in 2 good crosses in the FA Cup? He did **** all else. 500k? Talk about English players being over valued.... quality.

 

Those crosses made us lots of cash and put on his own value. He got us up, kept us up and kept us up again. All this as a first team regular. He's played a couple of seasons now in a league many claim is in the top five in Europe and yet through all this people think 500K is too much for him (doh) (doh) (doh)

 

I like the work ethic but i have always said, not got the skill to be in a top half championship side. It does leave us a little bare though for the left hand side of midfield. sure leon or howard can slip in there but neither one has pace.
