Glad you’re not in charge then. I think he’ll go in this window and I’m not expecting gazillions for him but anything below 1 million shouldn’t be considered. I understand that the bigger the initial down payment the lower the full fee will be, but can’t see the fowls offering a big up-front payment. Anyway it’ll probably be undisclosed and no doubt they’ll be various unofficial reports of the fee. We’ll see

If they are prepared to pay Cole 30K per week they are even dumber than I thought
I doubt he is on much with us though so even 10K per week would be enough to turn his head but we dont need to sell him unless they offer us silly money, its not like we have any other half decent strikers so if they offer us 500K I would hope we turn it down flat and let Cole go for nowt in the summer

You’re living in dream land if you think we can get £1million for him, let alone thinking he’s even worth that! He’s out of contract in the summer for a start, & he’s still unproven at Championship level, only ever playing for us in that dreadful season under the two clowns. Plus he’s nearing 30 so no resale value. £500k would be good business imo

Can't see anyone bidding a million for him. 6 months on his contract and not done anything at championship level.

It would be worth a punt at 1.5 mill if he could score the goals to help them stay up but I don't think he can at that level .

With a chance of promotion. £500k and he's going nowhere. They will imo turn their noses up at that. Unless Cole throws the teddy out of the cot. As others have done in the past.
Some other players did not. Despite all the speculation.
    Eg
    Woodrow.
    Connell
    Jalo

£500k would be ridiculous. If we have any intention to try and get promoted, with a financial benefit of what, £6m (per year), selling your top scorer for £500k, regardless of contract situation would be absurd. Especially to THEM.

It would be an odd move for all parties if it were to happen. He's unlikely to make the sort of instant impact that Wednesday would be after, they'd have to pay a fee for a player out of contract in the summer and the player could probably get better wages if he moves as a free agent. Unless Wednesday are offering silly money as wages, as well as a transfer fee in which case it's a no brainer for him, but a bizarre move by the club,

    I can’t see it.

I don’t think money would be the big thing for Cole - it’d be a starting role, and someone who is settled at Champ level. Like a Millwall tbf.

If he signed for Weds, he could be back in L1 next season again, but on a little more money, which I don’t believe that’s what he’s after.

He wanted to leave in the Summer ,he as raised his stock with the goals scored.
Why keep someone who dont want to be here.
Money generated will bring in a good centre back, we're not having trouble scoring.

Anyone asked his dad what he thinks? Never used to do anything without Andy (Andrew) holding his hand, if I remember.

That's why I said unless he throws the teddy out of the cot Baz. Wanting a pay day. (But he'll get that and more if he sees his contract out) His best times have been with us. On the scoring front. And settled longest at. (Other than Motherwell in the scoring stakes) I think any club that may go in for him will be taking a huge punt.
I wouldn't sell on for a pittance. I'd try loosen up the wage bill. Throughout the squad, we have too many imo. Including centre halves. Playing Jordan at The back speaks volumes for me. I can only think the manager thinks he's better in that position than some genuine ones on the books.

If we lost Cole we might have difficulties scoring.
Personally I dont think he'll be going anywhere. If S6 did come in for him I'd want a minimum of 2million up front with a further million if they stop up.

If we think he is vital to our promotion prospects, we should definitely not sell him for a mere £750k, or for any offer which he is likely to attract.

We might have trouble scoring if you take away the player responsible for 14 of our goals. He’s not the greatest by any means but pretty good at this level and I don’t see his replacement in the building. Recruiting a good striker at any time is hard enough but doubly hard in January.

Would he go? He said when he rejoined Barnsley he made a mistake by leaving. Or is that just usual waffle talk?

I would go even further mate and say if he goes then probably so does our play off chances.....unless it’s totally daft money being offered then no point in selling
