No one owes anyone anything it's football and his career. His 1st season he was down the pecking order behind woodrow and Morris and probably even vic, and the 2 Belgiums. Last season he was top scorer and this season he looks set to be again even if he goes this month.
Agree. Transfer instalments are the norm, all clubs do them. And tbf, with FFP etc, you have to do it to balance things out. Also, some transfer fees received can also be used to improve contract offers of remaining players too when needed. The transfer fee is for the club - the wages are what interests most players.
That is one way to look at it to be fair, it’s just a pity we couldn’t line up a replacement. I just don’t rate Cole, some do, that’s fair enough, I just found he was way out of his depth in the league above, I have aspirations of us getting out of this league & to do that we need someone with more potential to eventually step up when/if we get there. 500k is my threshold, other people think £1million, I’ll agree to disagree
If we sold for 500k and missed out on the play offs I'm sure you and many others would question the owners and their ambition.
I honestly don't see him leaving unless someone offers silly money. By 'silly,' I would say anything over a million, given that his contract is up in the summer. I believe the board and manager that we don't need to sell. As stated elsewhere, Devante will either stay if we do go up, or leave on a free in the summer for a deserved few sunset seasons to his career. It has been great to watch him develop into the sharp, quick and clinical striker that he is today and I think that he would credit BFC with a lot of the input to have brought that about. It has been a big win-win for me, as I was not certain about him when he signed from Motherwell, but he has benefited BFC and BFC has benefited him. Just score some of the goals to get us up now, Devante. COYR.
Only if we also sign https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aron_Jóhannsson. I'd like the look of that front pairing.
He’d be stupid to go to Wednesday, it could destroy him, he’s not that great at Championship level and if he struggles with his BFC history their fans would have little patience if any.
If they offer more than anyone else and accepted. Be foolish not to. Bar leeds of course. £5M offer and maybe I'd have to consider.
Cole has already scored 3 goals more than Gregory scored in 41 games last season in a team that finished 3rd no thanks.
